📒📖📚 We have books looking for a new home. Come along to Rolleston Primary (entry from Kidman St) on the 9th, 10th & 11th July.

We have been collecting good quality books, games, puzzles, LPs, CDs and DVDs for this year’s huge community sale to benefit community projects.

There is popular fiction, children’s books, cookbooks, gardening, history and recent non-fiction are especially welcome.

Every donation helps support Rotary Youth Driver Awareness and local community projects.

Steering Young Lives in the Right Direction
Lincoln Rotary was proud to support this year's RYDA programme, helping Lincoln High School and Ellesmere Year 11 and 12 students gain life-saving road safety skills.
Through powerful hands-on experiences, students learned the real consequences of speed, distraction and poor choices — and discussed how passengers can speak up when a driver is taking risks.
For volunteer David Jones, the experience was among the most rewarding things he has had in Rotary. "I wish we'd had something like this when I was young," he said — and he's already signed up for next year.
Supporting young people in making safer choices is another way Rotary is helping build stronger communities.

Growing Leaders for the Future
Last Saturday, Lincoln Rotary's 2026 Young Totara Award recipients, Kate Olijkan and Kaylee Hill, planted a native tōtara tree at the Lincoln Wetlands to commemorate their outstanding leadership and service to the community.
Joined by family, friends and fellow Rotarians, the young women carefully planted the tree, which will stand for generations as a symbol of their achievements and the bright futures that lie ahead.
A special thank you to Grahame Richards and Peter McNaughton, who ensured the young tōtara was properly staked and secured so it can grow straight and true.
Just like the mighty tōtara, we hope Kate and Kaylee will continue to grow, inspire others and make a lasting difference in our community.
Congratulations again to two remarkable young leaders.

Remembering Wal Scott
This week, we pay tribute to one of Lincoln Rotary's longest-serving and most respected members, Wal Scott, who passed away after nearly 49 years of Rotary service.
From club leadership and community projects to the much-loved Christmas Ham Wheel, Wal's contribution touched generations of Rotarians and the wider Selwyn community. Friends and fellow members share memories of a man who loved service, friendship and bringing people together to get things done.

A great project to be involved with.

With the 'Ryelands Pond', Moffat's flour mill heritage site another giant step ahead today, we are checking again if anyone might have a photo of the Lincoln mill (1867-1920)? All the project partners, Rotary, SDC, LDHS, and the Moffat family would love to hear about one!

Celebrating Selwyn’s Young Leaders 🌟
Lincoln Rotary was proud to present the 2026 Young Totara Awards this week to two outstanding young women, Kate Olijkan and Kaylee Hill.
Joined by Deputy Mayor Brendan “Big Red” Shefford, family and supporters, the evening recognised leadership, courage, community spirit and the drive to create positive change.
From youth leadership initiatives to advocacy on major social issues, both recipients are already making a remarkable contribution to their communities — and their futures are incredibly bright.
