WE WANT YOUR BOOKS!

Lincoln Rotary Bookarama is back — and we’re now collecting good quality books, games, puzzles, LPs, CDs and DVDs for this year’s huge community sale to benefit community projects.

Got shelves overflowing with great reads? Pass them on for someone else to enjoy! Popular fiction, children’s books, cookbooks, gardening, history and recent non-fiction are especially welcome.

Drop-off bins are now located around Lincoln, Rolleston and Prebbleton. Every donation helps support Rotary Youth Driver Awareness and local community projects.

Clear a shelf. Share a story. Support your community.

Celebrating Selwyn’s Young Leaders 🌟
Lincoln Rotary was proud to present the 2026 Young Totara Awards this week to two outstanding young women, Kate Olijkan and Kaylee Hill.
Joined by Deputy Mayor Brendan “Big Red” Shefford, family and supporters, the evening recognised leadership, courage, community spirit and the drive to create positive change.
From youth leadership initiatives to advocacy on major social issues, both recipients are already making a remarkable contribution to their communities — and their futures are incredibly bright.

Another fantastic Lincoln Rotary Primary School Quiz Night! 🧠✨
It was wonderful to see so many bright young minds from schools across Selwyn and surrounding districts enjoying an evening of fun, teamwork and friendly competition. A huge thank you to all the students, teachers, families and Rotary volunteers who helped make the night such a success.
Special thanks to Quizmaster Lou Heenan who kept the evening lively and running smoothly.

Lincoln Rotary was proud to deliver $500 worth of cereals and breakfast spreads to the Greenpark Foodbank today.

At this time of year, these essential items are in short supply, yet in high demand for their fortnightly deliveries. We’re grateful to be able to support our community in a small but meaningful way 💛

Rotary’s Epic Day of Service was a fantastic day of community action in the sunshine, with Lincoln and Riccarton Rotary teams taking part in river monitoring, weeding and mulching, and planting projects across the district. Our Huritini/Halswell River team spent the morning testing water quality, recording environmental conditions, and learning more about the health of this important local waterway. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, it was a great reminder that caring for our environment also strengthens community connections. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and to our team leaders who made the day such a success.

Lincoln Rotary enjoyed a lively and engaging evening with a wonderful group of international postgraduate students from 12 different nations, pictured here with Club President Fiona Harrall in the front row and International Committee Interim Chair Farhad Dastgheib in the back row, right.

It was a warm and inspiring evening of shared stories, new connections and friendship across cultures. We were delighted to welcome these students, learn more about the work they are doing, and be inspired by the contribution they will make to the future — in their own countries, and in ours.

A huge heartfelt thank you to Robin Jackson for the incredible effort and kindness in hand knitting 50 beautiful jumpers

These were delivered by Lincoln Rotary to Cholmondeley House, along with two generous hampers of snacks to help top up their pantry.

Your time, care, and generosity will make such a difference to the young people supported there. What a wonderful example of community in action — thank you Robin! 💛
