Christine is currently living, working and creating in Kaiapoi. She comes from a teaching background, but is presently commissioned in a marketing capacity when she is not creating artworks. Her interest lies within the realms of abstraction and impressionism - so the more usual process of "see it, paint it, feel it" is inverted to "feel it, paint it, see it".

There is a sense of joy in Christine's work that comes from an unplanned journey, as the
finished artwork slowly evolves, with layer at a time revealing itself through to completion.

As well as finding joy in producing art, her other passions are art travel and in sharing her knowledge and insights of the creative process with fellow creatives at the ‘Creativity Collective’ she formed. Christine’s workshops operate out of Paper Jam at the Kaiapoi Mill but also extend into the corporate space with exploring ‘2xing productivity’ through understanding and managing neurodiversity in the workplace, using art as the teaching delivery method.

You can follow Christine’s journey on her Instagram page ... christine_watton_art or her page ... Christine Watton Artist.

Lesley has been involved in the visual arts for many years as an art educator and practicing artist.

Her work has been exhibited and sold to collectors in Auckland, Christchurch, Queenstown, Timaru, Dunedin, Wanaka, Nelson and Australia.

Her works on exhibition are loosely based on landscapes and celebrate ‘light in the darkness’ through semi abstract use of form and colour.

This collection explores the x-scapes, how art allows us to escape from our everyday world. As well as visual arts Lesley is also a DJ
