Winners!!

Congratulations to the barbarians hockey team on winning the New Zealand Indian Sports Association u23 Indian hockey tournament held in Pukekohe on the 21st and 22nd of February! It was great to see all the players involved and a special shoutout to the boys from Waikato Indian Sports club selected in this team. A special mention must also go to all the support and management staff and Pukekohe Indian sports club for hosting this event.

Expression of Interest: NZISA Under 23’s Hockey Tournament 2026 - Waikato! ❤💛🖤

We are excited to announce the NZISA Under 23’s Hockey Tournament 2026 is taking place on Saturday, 21st February to Sunday, 22nd February 2026 in Pukekohe! 🏑

For the second consecutive year Waikato Indian Sports Club will be entering a competitive side as we look to go back-to-back. 🏆

If you are a hockey player aged under 23 years old and are interested in representing the Waikato Indian Sports Club at this action-packed, youth tournament. We would love to hear from you and have you on board! 👥

All good things must come to an end. ❤️💛🖤
Just like that the 2025 New Zealand Indian Hockey Championship is over. We hope you all enjoyed your time in Hamilton which was a successful weekend for our club. It took a monumental effort and a village was needed to run this event. Being a small Indian community we are extremely grateful for all the hard work, passion and support shown by our local community and sponsors who came together to help make this weekend run so smoothly.

The Waikato Social was an epic night with a near-full-capacity crowd. All the teams and supporters showed up in numbers. The vibes were on and the food was top-tier once again, this was consistent throughout the weekend. DJ Rick ended the night with a few tunes, the stage was a nice touch for crowd interaction helping create further memories.

On the turf, we witnessed some incredible battles and passages of play. You can rewatch these matches on YouTube thanks to the team at Local Gecko Productions for their live streaming services. A special shoutout to both our Waikato Men's A and B teams. As a club, this was the first time we have entered two teams, this was a fantastic achievement for us.

Congrats to the respective winners; Pukekohe A for winning the prestigious DC, North Harbour B for conquering the B Grade, North Harbour Women for completing the three-peat and Central Districts for retaining the T&G Shield. No doubt, you all will celebrate with your local communities. Also, congrats to the players who made Tournament Teams and those who were awarded their teams MVP. However, the real MVPs were the ladies in the Food Tent, for putting in an absolute shift all weekend long. Arguably, the best Butter Chicken Pies our annual Indian Tournament has seen.

Lastly, we would like to thank everyone who attended and helped our club in whatever manner. Because it's the people that make this great tournament what it is. We look forward to seeing you in Palmy for next year's instalment of the NZIHC.

NZIHC Day 2 was a great spectacle. A good day in the office for us with a better display of code and plenty of goals scored. The B's carried hard. However, not as much as the ladies in the kitchen. Finals day tomorrow, get up for it. ❤️💛🖤

NZIHC Day 1 is in the bag. Results did not go our way. However, both teams played some awesome hockey. Big shoutout to the local crowd. The boys could definitely hear the Cowbells ringing. We go again tomorrow. ❤️💛🖤
