Qtopia is a social support service for LGBTQIA+ young people, their whānau and communities, creating positive social change through education, advocacy, support and celebration.

GiveOUT Day is OFFICIALLY LIVE! 🥳

Today is New Zealand's national day of giving for our rainbow communities and we need your help.

Everything we raise goes directly back into supporting our rainbow whānau right here in Waitaha Canterbury. Whether it's through our peer support service for all trans, gender-diverse, non-binary, and questioning folk of all ages, education, advocacy or events, your support keeps our doors open and our programs running. 💜

As part of their training, the collective is offering free and low-cost professional supervision sessions for people working or volunteering in people-focused roles.

The absolutely amazing Jennifer Shields has stepped down from her role as Managing Director of Qtopia. She's done so much for us and the community and she's not finished yet. She's staying on the team, helping shape the next phase of our organisation.

We are on a roll with events! 💪 ✍️

Join us for a flash fiction workshop 👀 Flash fiction is a short piece of fiction (usually under 1000 words). It is a very exciting way of writing and we're bringing you a workshop with Rachel Smith (Flash Frontier, National Flash Fiction Day Ōtautahi) to explain how to write a great piece!

We will spend one hour writing. The second hour of this workshop is an open mic session for anyone who wants to read what they wrote either in the workshop or in their own time. This will be open to shorter pieces and poetry.

This event is for folks 16+ and tickets are free of charge. We have limited capacity for this event. 💜
