We braved taking the campers to check out Parakiore (Christchurch's new pool) — and wow… what a day! 💦💛

Hydroslides, splashing, non-stop fun — you couldn’t wipe the smiles off faces (campers and companions!). It’s safe to say the excitement levels were high from start to finish.

For the campers, it was all about the thrill, the laughter, and giving everything a go.

For the staff… well… let’s just say it was a masterclass in health & safety vigilance, quick reactions, and a few heart-racing moments along the way 😅

But honestly? Every second was worth it.

Because when you see the pure joy, the laughter, and the confidence shining through — that’s what it’s all about.

Huge fun, a little bit of chaos, and memories made that will last a lifetime 💫

Day 3 of NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK sees us celebrating another of our amazing REGIONAL MANAGERS, whose dedication helps bring the magic of Camp to life.

Today, we’re shining the spotlight on ANGE YANNAKIS, Regional Manager for our Christchurch Region since 2021. Ange’s contribution to Camp Quality has been truly remarkable:

There’s something pretty special about our arts and crafts sessions at camp 🎨💛

It’s not about being perfect or “getting it right” — it’s about being creative, giving things a go, and trying something new. Whether it’s painting, building, gluing, or a bit of glitter (okay… sometimes a LOT of glitter), it’s all about expressing ourselves and having fun along the way.

And sometimes… the canvas isn’t paper at all — it’s faces! There’s nothing quite like seeing everyone transformed into colourful characters, superheroes, or something completely unique.

We love seeing campers and companions step outside their comfort zones, discover hidden talents, and cheer each other on.

From incredible creations to unforgettable moments like Nerdy Smurf and his magical journey home (thanks Sam for being a good sport), every masterpiece tells a story ✨

The pride, the laughter, and the creativity — that’s what makes it all so special.

When the temperature drops and winter well and truly sets in ❄️… we can’t help but think back to camp — and that waterslide 💦

Because nothing says Camp Quality quite like braving the cold, flying down the slide, and laughing the whole way through (even when you’re questioning your life choices halfway down!).

And let’s be honest… it wasn’t just water — it was next level fun thanks to the awesome foam that made everything even more slippery, silly, and unforgettable.

A huge shoutout to the Governors Bay Volunteer Fire Brigade for bringing the foam and turning a fun activity into an absolute highlight. Your support and enthusiasm added so much extra magic to camp — we loved every minute of it!

Proof that even in the middle of winter… camp memories keep us warm 💛

Reunion/Family day is the day we come back together to relive the magic — sharing laughs, stories, and all those unforgettable moments that made camp so special.
And of course, it’s when we get our hands on the annual logbook… a treasure trove of memories that lets us hold onto camp just a little bit longer.
Every page is filled with the joy, connection, and spirit that makes Camp Quality so unique.

A huge thank you to Inkwise NZ wise for generously donating the printing of the logbooks — we couldn’t do this without your support. And to Katrina, thank you for the time, care, and heart you put into each page and for bringing it all together — the memories you capture truly are something special.

🖤❤️ Remember these guys? 🖤❤️

This year, we invited Canterbury Cricket to join us for something a little different— our annual tree planting.

It was a special moment to slow down, give back to our environment, and reflect together. A time to remember the incredible people who have been part of Camp Quality over the years, and to honour those who are no longer with us—especially the brave kids and families who have lost their battle with cancer.

Planting trees feels like the perfect way to acknowledge the past while looking forward with hope. A living reminder of connection, care, and the lasting impact our Camp Quality whānau has on each other and the world around us 🌱

We also feel blessed that the amazing team Living Springs have given us our own little space to plant our trees year after year, so we have a special place to call our own in this beautiful location.

Moments like these remind us that camp is about so much more than just fun—it’s about community, remembrance, and heart. 💛

🏏❤️ Special visitors at camp – the Canterbury Kings! 🖤🏏
We were lucky enough to have the Canterbury Cricket players come and spend some time with us at camp, and as always, they were absolute legends.

From jumping straight into games with the kids, to getting their faces painted and sharing plenty of laughs, the Kings made sure every camper walked away with a smile on their face. It’s always so special to see top‑class sportspeople take the time to connect, play, and just be kids alongside our campers.

This year, they even got involved in something pretty special (other than their tiktok dancing) … but we’re going to keep that one under wraps for now 👀✨

🔫✨ Laser Strike legends – thank you! ✨🔫
One of the biggest highlights of camp was an action‑packed session at Laser Strike, and we were incredibly honoured to be part of something extra special.

Our campers played the very last games ever in Laser Strike’s old arena—what a way to send it off! There was excitement, teamwork, laughter, and plenty of friendly competition as the kids gave it everything they had.

A huge thank you to the Laser Strike team for supporting Camp Quality and, most importantly, for making the experience so inclusive for all of our kids. Creating spaces where everyone can join in, feel confident, and have fun makes a world of difference—and it truly showed.

We’re so excited for you as you move into your new arena, and we can’t wait to see what’s next. Thanks for helping create such an unforgettable camp memory 💛🎉

🏕️🎉 Adventure day: over the hill and into the fun! 🎉🏕️
Monday, we packed up the excitement and headed to the other side of the hill for a morning full of adventures—and wow, did it deliver!

One of the stops was Action Indoor Sports Hornby to check out Inflatable World, where there was bouncing, racing, laughing, and so much energy from start to finish. The kids threw themselves into the fun, cheering each other on and making memories that will last long after camp ends.

🧠🎉 Game Night: Camp Quality Cranium‑style! 🎉🧠
What better way to kick off our very first evening at camp than with a whole lot of laughter, teamwork, and creative chaos?

Our campers jumped straight into Cranium – Camp Quality style, and it was an instant hit! From drawing and paper planes to guessing, play doughing, and thinking outside the box, the kids had an absolute blast—cheering each other on, showing off hidden talents, and settling right into camp life.

The room was buzzing with excitement, friendships were already forming, and smiles were everywhere. The perfect start to an unforgettable camp adventure 💛✨

Night one = success. And this was only the beginning!
