is hosting Greening the City (at Myers Park) — a free programme supporting Auckland city centre residents, businesses and workers to share the resources, knowledge, and community to grow their own plants from seed (this winter). 🫛🥬🌱🪴🌞

“We have close to $10,000 of resources to give away — compost, seed raising mix, professional propagation trays, and a huge array of seeds. Every participant then gets ten weeks of tailored email support — how-to videos, troubleshooting, the lot.

On the open days, professional urban farmers will run drop-in, family-friendly workshops where people can learn hands-on how to sow seeds and take home their own resource pack.

In August we will regroup at Myers Park Cottage to share our collectively grown seedlings and plant out a beautiful community garden full of flowers, fruit trees, and vegetables.

Greening the City at Myers Park Cottage
Sun 24 May 10.30am - 16.30pm - Get your FREE tickets here
AND
Sat 6 June 10.30am - 16.30pm - Get your FREE tickets here

In partnership with Auckland Council and Levi Brinsdon-Hall from Delicious Revolution

So bring your gardening gloves and together we can do some planting around the cottage and we can start spreading some seeds to help feed others.”

Movement Therapy for Mamas and Bubbas

📍 Freemans Bay Community Centre, 52 Hepburn Street, Freemans Bay, Auckland, Function Room

🗓️ Every Thursday morning: drop in between 10am and 11.30am

💰Koha - If you are willing and able, this can be pūtea (money), for example $5-$10. It can also be an exchange of goods, for example a plant such as kawakawa or flowers, or kai (food) such as muffins.

We are thrilled to have Rewa Fowles facilitating these sessions. Through ‘Movement Therapy for Mamas and Bubbas’ Rewa desires to cultivate a space where mamas and their children are welcome to unapologetically be themselves through creative movement.

A time to release stress, be playful, and create connections!

Mamas you’re invited to bring your young children to these sessions, where you will learn how to regulate your bodies by not controlling it - but by getting more familiar and in tune with what your body needs.

Parking is available on-site and via Pratt Street (rear entrance).
