Thank you BARK NZ for coming to our centre and teaching our tamariki about dog safety. Such a wonderful and valuable experience for them. 🙌🏼 ❤️ 🐾

Thank you Titirangi Playcentre for having us along to visit today. Lucas and Peanut had a great morning with the children, especially the child-led game of hide-n-seek 🤩

Kia ora koutou e te whānau! Nau mai te Wiki o te Reo Māori!

At Playcentre we honour our indigenous language, te Reo Māori, as a unique taonga to be treasured by all New Zealanders.

Playcentres across the motu will be celebrating and learning te Reo this week (as well as all year round!), and we’ll be sharing wero (challenges) here to help you embrace it in your whare too! Karawhiua!

Wero 1. Kōrero Māori – practice your reo with these handy resources:

✅ Encouraging phrases and praise to use with your tamariki: https://www.playcentre.org.nz/learnwithus/te-ao-maori-resources-and-events/kiwaha-maori-sayings/kiwaha-key-phrases-2/
✅ Reo Māori resources: https://www.reomaori.co.nz/resources
✅ Ako Aotearoa; language booklets for ECEs: https://ako.ac.nz/knowledge-centre/ki-te-hoe-indigenising-spaces/17-book-set

Kia kaha te Reo Māori!
