We had a great school programme day at HubWest today, Cooking up a storm in the commercial kitchen with talented baker Annette supported by Lu. All cooking gear and aprons were kindly supplied by MPHS Tipping Point, amazing what you can find there! The kids cooked biscuits, scones and muffins and had plenty to take home and share. They learnt how baking at home reduces plastic waste too. Thanks to Henderson-Massey Local Board for supporting us and, of course, Annette and Lu.

We had a great time at HubWest last night cooking with Ganesh Raj. Everyone went away with their dinner and cost saving recipes to implement at home.

Some of the MPHS team joined Ganesh from Eat Well for Less …Humble Yum Yum session for a team building evening last night. We had a great time and learned how to keep the grocery budget in check and whipped up a delicious cheap and cheerful Butter Chicken - in no time. We figured the community would be into this as well - watch this space!

🌱 Help shape how community funding is distributed in Henderson. The Purapura Community Fund is now open, with funding available for projects that support the priorities of the Mau Te Rongo Community Recovery Plan. But funding is only part of the story. We're looking for Henderson community members to take part in a decision-making wānanga, where we'll come together to hear project ideas, share perspectives, and help decide which initiatives receive funding. This is an opportunity to have a real say in how recovery funding is invested in our community and to support projects that will make a positive difference for Henderson.
Whether you're connected through a local group, school, business, sports club, faith community, or simply care about the future of Henderson, we'd love to hear from you.
👉 Register for the wānanga here.
