Angee Nicholas, the National candidate for Henderson popped into the monthly executive meeting of the Massey Birdwood Settlers Association Inc.

All the candidates and the public alike can do so, in fact why not join the Massey Birdwood Settlers Association inc if your interested in your local community and live in Massey.

Angee met up with Charlie after the meeting. Not sure what she was talking to him about but surely every candidate and politician would love constituents to hang on their every word!

Or did she have a treat for him which would be bribery!

Pity he cannot vote Angee, he looks as if you have his vote in your pockets!

Some Massey history Massey Birdwood Settlers Association and Hall

In July, the Kereru Massey Scout Group, which has a Scout Hall behind our hall, will be holding a Quiz night in our hall.

Many people are probably unaware that the Kereru Massey Scout Hall has not always been situated behind the Massey Birdwood Settlers Hall. In fact many will be unaware that the hall used to be the Henderson RSA Hall in Railside Ave many years ago.

When the hall was first used by the Scouts, it was situated further along Redhills, where the first bend is in Redhills Road and the entrance to Massey Primary.

The hall was moved to its present site in the early 1980's and one of our members, Allen Davies, who at the time was very active in Massey, not only as a Massey Birdwood Settlers Association committee member, but also as a member of the Massey Lions and as a Scout leader.

Here is a photo of Allen helping rest the Scout Hall on its then new foundations.

Nice to see the money being spent on Moire Park, this bridge over the mud and into the bush.

Moire Park would have to be the gem of parks and makes Massey what it is.

A great place.

This is big for NZ, Norwest shopping centre, Auckland, West Auckland and Massey.

They call it Westgate or Norwest Auckland however in the old days the area was known as Massey North.
