Got a creative idea you keep coming back to?
It doesn’t need a polished plan, a confirmed venue or a perfectly balanced budget yet. If there’s something you’d love to create with the Henderson-Massey community, Creative Henderson-Massey would like to hear about it!

You might be imagining a performance, exhibition, workshop, film, publication, music project, community event or something we haven’t thought of yet.

Funding applications for the 2026 round are now open, and first-time applicants are very welcome.
Projects must take place between October 2026 and June 2027.
Applications close Friday 4 September at 5pm.

Congratulations to DEANZ Repair Café on their nomination!
Did you know that we host DEANZ Repair Café - Te Atatu South on the first Friday of every month, 5pm to 8pm? So come along and check out the great mahi they do in our neighbourhood!

DEANZ Repair Café was honoured to be nominated in the 'Growing the Movement Award' at the 2026 Tāmaki Makaurau Zero Waste Awards on Thursday. Congrats to the winners and all the other amazing nominee's.

Big thanks to EcoMatters and the Auckland Council Waste Solutions team for hosting such a great event.

Winter is definitely upon us! One bonus of cold and wet weather is that it can be a great opportunity to start the spring cleaning and decluttering ahead of spring.

Do you have something that's broken or in need of a little TLC to be useable again? If so, why not bring it along to our next Repair Cafe next Friday (7 August) - they'd love to help!
The awesome team of volunteers are ready and willing to help with:
💻 electronic repairs (laptops, phones, etc - please bring your own charger and any components required)
🔌small electrical appliances (lamps, kitchen appliances, anything that has a flex and a plug ) - please no microwave ovens or 4-slice toasters as these can't be fixed.
🪑 small furniture items needing repair (no bigger than you can carry)
🧸toys
🧵sewing repairs - darning, button repairs, etc (please ensure items are clean, pockets empty, and bring any components you need with you, eg zips. If unpicking needs to be done, it would be appreciated if you could do this prior to arrival as well)
🚴‍♂️Bike servicing
🔧General diy/household repairs
You'll find DEANZ Repair Café - Te Atatu South at Te Atatu South Community Centre (behind St John Ambulance) on Friday 7 August from 5pm - 8pm (last items accepted at 7:30pm to enable them to close on time).

This is a free event, however koha gratefully received to assist with the cost of running these events.

🌱 Looking for a way to give back to our local environment this weekend?

Our friends at Community Waitākere are hosting a Community Planting Workshop this Sunday at Ōrangihina-Harbourview Park, and there are still a few places available!

Come along for a morning of planting, connection, and fun. There'll be light refreshments, music, games, and plenty of good vibes while we help restore this beautiful local space.

🕙 Sunday, starting at 10.00am

Looking for a fun, creative and slightly messy after school activity? Our Term 3 programme with The ReCreators is the perfect place for tamariki who love to make, build and experiment.

Each week kids get stuck into a huge range of upcycled materials like wood, fabric, paper, cardboard and wire, turning everyday bits and pieces into awesome creations. Some projects take one session and others run over two, giving them time to really get into it while learning skills like sewing, drilling, weaving, designing, cutting, assembling, painting and drawing.
