We think it's always a good time for a gelato treat! Round up the kids for a family walk this school holidays, and make sure to stop by The Gelato Workshop as you pass through the Village! We have four great walks in and near the Village; through Lee Roys Bush (our "inner city rainforest" walk), along Hinemoa St where you can admire the heritage houses ("Birenhead's Oldest St" walk), from the Village and through Chelsea Reserve ("Original Sugar Workers" walk) or through the Village while reading our plaques featuring local history ("Hammonds Highbury Heritage" walk)

Wanting a free and fun activity for the school holidays? Birkenhead Library are open 7 days a week and have books for all ages, from the littlest ones who don't yet know how to read to the teenagers enjoying YA, and of course for the adults who want to lead by example! The team have a great selection for all interests, and if they don't have the exact book you want, you can just talk to them and they may be able to get it for you!
Don't have a library card? Just come in with photo ID to get your free library card!

We think that the Beadazzle $9 make and take is one of the iconic school holiday activities that is a must do every school holidays!

Anne has a table full of tools and beads for the kids to make their own bracelet, necklace, surfer chocker or "mangle" (a bangle for a man) which is not just a fun activity but the perfect souvenir for the kids to remember the fun of the holidays! We loved seeing how creative these girls were when designing their wrap around bracelets on Wednesday!

Have you spotted Rachel's sign out the front of generositycoffee yet? She told us that she wants to make that morning cuppa a regular thing again, so is offering $3.50 coffees! You can order your latte, cappuccino or whatever your usual is, and it will just be in a smaller cup ☕️
