Habitat for Humanity Northern is a registered housing provider that addresses substandard housing and housing access for individuals and families from Cape Reinga to the Bombays. From Cape Reinga to the Bombays our work supports local whānau into affordable and healthy homes through essential repairs, renovation, advocacy and education. All donations and volunteer support are essential in improving the health and well-being of our communities.

It’s been one year since three incredible wahine toa moved into their new 3‑bedroom homes in Tikipunga, beginning their homeownership journeys. Over the past year, they’ve built stability, created space for their whānau to thrive, and made these houses their own. 🏠💛

He mihi nui to their strength and determination, their achievements over the past year are a testament to their hard work and resilience.

🏗️ Project Update – Maunu Housing Development

In Maunu, Whangārei we’re creating a community of 26 affordable, accessible homes designed to support dignity, independence, and wellbeing for our ageing population. Built to Lifemark 4 and 5 standards, this development will offer safe, future proof housing for adults aged 55 and over.

Building Consents are approved for all four blocks. Works on site are progressing well, with the first concrete floor pour underway, and the vertical build just around the corner.

✨ What an incredible year of impact! ✨

This year, we celebrated multiple home dedications, welcoming whānau into their brand-new homes where they can thrive. We installed curtains to create warmth, repaired homes to make them safer and healthier, and worked alongside amazing partners and supporters who made every step possible.

From our Healthy Homes team, Home Repair programme, and Housing Developments, to the volunteers and donors who stood with us – together we build warm, dry, healthier homes for local communities. Together, we build stronger communities.

🙌 A big shout-out to the amazing team from APT Travel Group! APT

Yesterday, they rolled up their sleeves and volunteered at our Ormiston Op Shop, helping us tackle tasks that often get put aside during the busy Christmas season.
