At today's monthly meeting our Guild member, Elana Pieterse Stalmann, tutored a beautiful Dragonfly. Awesome to speak with so many first timers doing stumpwork. Keep 👀 peeled for finishes and what comes next!

A busy Auckland Embroidery Guild day preparing to host other Guilds in our Region next month.

New Work from Andrea completing mum's Lagartera ufo mat,

Anne's **ha embroidery from the 2026 post ANZEG Conference workshop with - made into a sleeve for a box of threads.

Ruth's un-named dragon Shirley Pygott design kit - will happily hang next to the Goldwork 🦉 (we hope 🤞)

Anne completed this feather at a long and short embroidery workshop last month with Jo Dixey 🤩

During the week we snuck into day one post-conference ANZEG workshop in our region with Amarjeet Nandhra titled Indian Inspired Textiles.
Oh my my was fantastic to catch up with participants at our monthly meeting today. What a buzz - challenged, inspired, planning, friendship, shared ideas, grateful for an opportunity with such an amazing international tutor.... and so much more!

Monthly meetings are the 1st Saturday and the 2nd Tuesday - 10 am to 12 pm, then stay and stitch for a couple of hours.

Our Guild display at the ANZEG 2026 Threads of Connection Conference in Palmerston North 4-9 July.
Members were delighted to see and reflect on this piece at today's meeting.

We meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month at our Guild rooms in Mt Eden.

A special thank you to Kirsten Emerson for the concept and construction together with helpers!

Konnichiwa... this month's Tuesday meeting included an embroidery stitch-a-long of the Kogin technique. An ANZEG Portfolio Resource.
A challenge for some, and well suited other embroiderers who can count and had their 👀 🧐 spot on. Great chatter and thoroughly enjoyed.

June's Saturday meeting was a buzz with one of our members, Dale, tutoring Bead Knitting. An inspiration for Elana to finish her UFO blue purse 👛🩵🫶

It's King's Birthday weekend in New Zealand so why not learn and embroider Shirley Designs' Curious Floral Pattern. Beginners and Intermediate patterns using Appleton Crewel Wools. A popular workshop which is looking to be repeated soon!
