*A lil' history:* J Day was originally held in November each year, then February, then for many years it moved to the first Saturday in May, and now J Day is held in Auckland on the first Saturday in December. The weather is nicer, people are more likely to enjoy an outdoor park setting, and it doesn't get dark so early. For more information or to get involved please message us or see www.norml.org.nz

Enjoy an epic lineup of music at J Day in Albert Park, presented by Jafa Sound on the mighty Jafa Mafia Sound System! A huge custom-built rig powered by valves and THC. We can't quite recall how long they've been providing earth-shaking bass at J Day, but it's definitely since ages ago!

Detection of residue does not equal impairment. Plus, the Aussie test devices give a false positive for 1-in-10 drivers, as well as false negatives, and cross reactions with common medications. Your only defence is having a prescription, and fighting to change this new law. Join us at J Day and learn more!

Roll up for J Day! Saturday 6 December in Albert Park, Auckland. J Day celebrates cann4bis, a natural plant that has been used for centuries by many cultures for medicinal, spiritual and recreational purposes. Cann4bis is also one of the most widely used substances in New Zealand, with about 80% of adults having tried it. But under our current law - now fifty years old and a complete mess - it is illegal and criminalised.

NORML'S 5-Point Plan for law reform

Repeal the Misuse of Drvgs Act: We need a new approach - a legal, regulated and controlled system that puts public health and safety first.

Decriminalise: remove penalties for the use, possession, cultivation and sharing of cann4bis.

Improve access to medicinal cann4bis: make it affordable for everyone.

License and tax the cann4bis economy: generate 5000 jobs and $1.5 billion in taxes (BERL, 2020). Prioritise non-profit models like Cann4bis Social Clubs or Licensing Trusts.

Social impact: redirect police to crimes that matter. Use cann4bis licenses and taxes to support those most affected by prohibition. Wipe old records to give everyone a fresh start.

YOU CAN HELP MAKE IT LEGAL

(and how ridiculous is it that we have to write "cann4bis"!)
