Onehunga Community Centre is a happening place where local people participate and meet. All ages, cultures, religions everyone is welcome….

We have an inspiring range of classes, exciting workshops and enlightening community services. Meet here and get involved. If it is a place or venue you require, come in and see us. We have big rooms and small rooms. Rooms with kitchens, rooms with mirrors, with wheelchair access and with child friendly facilities. We have a hall with a stage and seating for 180 people.

Join us at the Onehunga Community Centre for the Ma'ohi Cultural Educational Event, taking place tonight, tomorrow night, and Saturday 20 June from 6:30pm–9:00pm.

Come and discover the rich culture and heritage of the Ma'ohi people through interactive learning and cultural sharing. Explore Ma'ohi history, language (Reo), traditional songs, dance, customs, and much more.

This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community, celebrate Pacific culture, and deepen your understanding of Ma'ohi traditions in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Looking for a great way to start your week with movement, relaxation, and wellbeing?

Our Monday Night Community Yoga classes at Onehunga Community Centre still have 4 sessions remaining before the programme wraps up for the term.

Last Saturday we partnered with Korea-New Zealand Cultural Association (KNZCA) and hosted a talk, AI & Generative AI – What You Need to Know, for parents. It was the final session in a series of six AI-Education workshops funded by the Ministry of Education. The session was delivered by the author, Andeed Ma, of the book ‘AI for Humanity: Building a Sustainable AI for the Future’.

It is a highly relevant topic in today’s environment, and it clearly resonated with the community. Despite the long weekend, we had a fantastic turnout. It was especially encouraging to see parents travelling from CBD and Henderson to attend and actively engage in the session.

A big thank you to KNZCA for bringing this talk to Onehunga, and thanks to everyone involved in supporting and delivering this successful session!

Thank You for an Amazing Youth Expo!

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to all the incredible organisations who participated in our Youth Expo yesterday. Big shout out to New Zealand Blue Light, CAB Onehunga, Electoral Commission Community Liaison Team, Lifeskills, Maungakiekie Youth Council, Pacific Homecare, Raise Up, Te papapa Sports Club, Te Whatu Ora Smokefree Clinic, Waitamata District Health Board Tupu Service, Te Wānanga o Aotearoa Mangere Campus, Workbridge, and Youth for Sure.

Your passion, energy, and commitment truly brought the event to life and created a welcoming space for our young people.

To our community, thank you for coming along, supporting the event, and making it such a positive and lively day. It was inspiring to see so many connections being made and opportunities shared.

Join us for a free community workshop designed for parents and families to better understand Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI in a simple, practical, and family-friendly way. Learn what AI is, what “generative AI” means, and how these tools are becoming part of everyday learning and life.
