t's time to get AMPED!
I.Lead is ecstatic to present AMPLIFY: THE ART OF DIFFERENCE, a disability-led arts and music festival.

This first-time event will be taking place in Auckland on December 5th, in honour of International Day of persons with disabilities. Located at the Mt Roskill Memorial Hall, entry to this event will be free (however koha is appreciated).

AMPLIFY is more than a music festival. It's a platform to uplift and celebrate the talent of Aotearoa's disability community. Disabled people’s talents are often underestimated, and this festival aims to challenge the status quo by and show the community that disabled people are capable artists. This festival provides a place to have a good time, let loose, and express themselves.

The festival will showcase various performing arts, all created and performed by disabled people, for disabled people, led by I.Lead’s members.

I.Drive: Upper North Island
Are you a disabled person who lives in Auckland or Waikato who is looking to gain their Learner's Licence? I.Drive could be the program for you!

YES runs the I.Drive Licensing Program as an interactive and comprehensive theory-based workshop to support you in attaining your license.

The workshop includes:
-Going through the New Zealand Road Code in an easy-learning manner
-Participants will be given a take-home workbook
-Free pizza for lunch
-Support booking your learner's test

South Auckland: 1st & 2nd of October
Location: Mana Inc- 32 Beach Road, Pahurehure

North Shore: 3rd & 4th November
Location: Shore Junction, 19 Northcote Road, Takapuna, Auckland

Hamilton: 5th of October
Location: To be confirmed

REGISTRATION IS ESSENTIAL. NO WALK-INS ACCEPTED.

JUST ONE SHOWCASE DAY TO GO!
Our Wellington Showcase Day will be hosted next month, Wednesday, 21st October at Te Rauparaha Arena, 17 Parumoana Street.

Come along for a day of connection (and free kai!).

Showcase Days provide a welcoming and accessible space to:
-Learn about I.Lead’s kaupapa, programmes, and regional committees
-Hear directly from disabled youth leaders about their experiences and impact
-Explore opportunities to get involved — as a member, volunteer, partner, or supporter
-Connect with like-minded young people, organisations, and decision-makers
Come along, meet the community, and see what’s possible when disabled youth lead the way.

Our remaining showcase date is:
Wellington – Wednesday, 21st October
Te Rauparaha Arena, 17 Parumoana Street, Porirua City Centre

Te Ara Tāne: The Path of Men

We’re creating a space where disabled men (aged 18-30) can come together, be real, and have honest kōrero about the ups and downs of life — the stuff people don’t always talk about. Whether it’s about identity, relationships, mental health, or just everyday challenges, this is a space where you’ll be heard and understood.
This group was designed by disabled men, for disabled men — no pressure, no judgement, just a chance to connect, listen, and be yourself.

Come along. Your story matters. Your voice belongs here.

On Friday, our Dunedin I.Lead committee members Oak and Vika, alongside I.Lead Southern Region Coordinator, Hannah, got to tour the new Dunedin Hospital Outpatients building.
They were very intrigued to see just how much work has gone into creating this new space and look forward to seeing it in operation later in the year!
