Introducing Dr Hossein Jahedi, a Breast Cancer Cure-funded researcher from the University of Auckland.

Thanks to funds raised through our events and campaigns, Hossein is one of many researchers across Aotearoa working to improve the future of breast cancer treatment.

His research focuses on immune cells called macrophages, which may help protect cancer cells from chemotherapy. By studying these cells and how they behave inside tumours, Hossein hopes to better understand why some patients respond well to treatment while others do not.

The goal is simple but powerful: more personalised care, more effective treatment, and better outcomes for women facing breast cancer. 💗
