Over the past few weeks, we’ve had the privilege of running a three-part workshop series designed to support migrant jobseekers and workers, bringing together 45 participants on a shared journey toward employment, confidence, and connection here in Aotearoa.
Each session built on the last, and it has been truly inspiring to witness the growth in confidence, the exchange of experiences, and the strong sense of community that formed along the way. 💛
We began on 20 May with our CV & Cover Letter Writing workshop at the Wesley Community Centre, where participants explored how to tailor their applications to Kiwi employers — understanding local formats, language, and what makes a strong first impression.
On 27 May, we gathered again for Job Interview Preparation. This session focused on building confidence in interviews — from answering common questions to communicating skills in ways that resonate within the New Zealand context. It was powerful to see participants step into their stories and own their strengths.
We concluded on 3 June at the Mt Roskill War Memorial Hall with Personal Branding & Networking. This final session helped participants reflect on who they are, how they present themselves professionally, and how to build meaningful connections that open doors to opportunities.
Across all three workshops, what stood out most was the spirit of support — migrant jobseekers and workers uplifting one another, sharing knowledge, and building confidence together.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who participated and contributed to making these sessions so meaningful. And we remain hopeful for what lies ahead — for each person taking the next steps toward meaningful work and belonging in Aotearoa New Zealand. 🌱
