ORMISTON, YOU WALKED THE TALK! 💙🚶🏽‍♀️

60+ of you showed up for our Closing Lap — and some even asked when we’re doing the next one! 🥹

What a way to kick off the school holidays and close out Day 30/30 of Walk the Talk, raising awareness for youth mental health — for youth, by youth.

We had our community walk, free BBQ, fresh baking from Sharkey St Bakery, UP&GO's thanks to Sanitarium Health Food Company NZ, music, games and prizes.

A huge thank you to Jack from Youthline for getting amongst the kids with games and kōrero, and congratulations to Ezekiel and Ethan, our refurbished laptop winners! 💻👏🏽 They happened to be at the park, saw what was happening and decided to join us — exactly what community is about.

The rain followed us all morning, but as soon as our walk started, the sun came out ☀️

Thank you Ormiston for showing up, joining in and supporting our kaupapa. We might have to do this again! 👀💙

This September, Failoa Famili has been taking part in Walk the Talk in support of Youthline — walking, raising awareness and starting conversations around youth mental health and wellbeing.

Youthline provides a space for young people across Aotearoa to reach out when they need someone to talk to, alongside wider youth development and support services. Having accessible support matters, especially when someone may not know who to turn to or how to start that conversation.

To close out the month, we’re bringing our community together for one final lap! 🚶🏽‍♀️🚶🏽‍♂️

Join us for a community walk around Barry Curtis Park, followed by a Lunch & Learn with a Youthline representative, where we’ll continue the kōrero around mental health, connection and supporting our young people.

WE’RE WALKING THE TALK 💛👟

This September, Failoa Famili is getting behind Youthline’s Walk the Talk challenge — committing to moving every day throughout September while raising funds to support youth mental health across Aotearoa.

But it’s about more than getting our steps in. It’s about starting conversations, checking in with our people and creating space for talanoa around mental wellbeing.

We’ll be walking throughout the month and sharing the journey along the way — and we’d love our Failoa Famili community to get behind us. 💛

Puataunofo Come Home Safely PD training with Failoa Famili Auckland staff and volunteers on Monday 31 August 2026.

Raising awareness of health, safety and wellbeing for all workers so when they leave for work they come home safely to their families.

Upskilling today’s youth to be safety leaders of tomorrow.
