Last week we hosted the Sustainable Business Network as they opened their Nature & Business Symposium 2026 by giving back to te taiao.
Our Te Pu-a-nga Maara Taiao Rangers welcomed the group onto the whenua at Te Puhinui, where we planted 1,000 native plants together, including koromiko, puukio, harakeke, and karo. This mahi is part of our ongoing nine-year journey regenerating the Puhinui stream and surrounding areas in South Auckland.

It was a powerful way to begin the Symposium, grounding the koorero in the whenua before the discussions that followed the next day.

In collaboration with Manurewa Marae, we celebrated Matariki 2026 by pulling together an event for our kaumaatua. Over 100 local kaumaatua came and spent the day getting spoilt with gifts, enjoying some yummy kai, listening to live music, and busting out their best line-dancing moves🕺🏾🎵✨️

Kei konei mātou ki Te Ahi Kōmau Matariki Makete with our whānau from Papatuanuku Kokiri Marae. And Koru school. Despite the weather stalls have turned up with some yummy kai, ataahua rauemi, fresh veges straight from the maara, Rongoa and mirimiri with the te Kahui rongoa. Naumai haere mai whānau. Come support the kaupapa creating "unity in the community".
