Seva community center is becoming a favoured meeting point with seniors walking in every day. Some play games, some take part in activities, some just chit chat or watch
TV. A warm welcoming space manned by our dedicated volunteers who provide endless cups of tea and refreshments.
Drop in at Seva community centre 35 East Tamaki rd, Papatoetoe. Open every day from 11am to 3pm.

This week Seva buzzed with lots of activities.
We welcomed new members, did exercises and sang old nostalgic songs. We had the Pain management clinic in Papatoetoe do a presentation of there services. They presented Seva a certificate of appreciation. 🙂
Then the fun part began with the clinic sponsoring 5 free 15mts massage and 3 30 minutes massage through lucky draw. Each member received a gift voucher of $10. Do we need to describe the atmosphere in the room😉

Beant Kaur Ji is 91 years young and an active member of Seva Charitable Trust. Yesterday, at the end of our weekly programme, I noticed her leaning over the tables, clearing empty glasses and picking up used serviettes left by members.

I gently asked her not to worry and said we would clean everything once everyone had left. But she insisted, saying she was active and wanted to help the team.

I salute Beant Kaur Ji’s incredible spirit of seva, humility and dedication. At 91, she continues to lead by example. Her selfless attitude is a lesson for every one of us. 🙏
