Marae around Aotearoa have experienced devastating fires, with buildings, taonga and years of history lost.

Fire and Emergency NZ says most marae buildings pose a significant fire and evacuation risk.

So here's a question for your trustees:

If there was a fire at your marae tonight, would you know your fire safety systems were ready?

When was the last time you checked:

🚪 Emergency exits
📋 Evacuation procedures
👥 Fire Warden training
