🌱 What's Happening This Month in Our Greenhithe Reserves? 🌱
June is planting month! 🌿🌧️

Our Greenhithe Community Trust Ecology Friends groups are getting hundreds of native plants into the ground, including carex, shrubs, young trees and more. Here's when you can get involved 👇

📍 Wednesdays – Friends of Orātau Reserve
9.30am–12.30pm
📍 Thursdays – Friends of Wainoni Park
9.30am–12.30pm
📍 Saturday 13 June – Friends of Outlook Reserve

Lend a hand and help grow the next generation of Greenhithe's native bush. New volunteers are always welcome!
No experience is needed — just bring your enthusiasm, a drink bottle, and a love for our local reserves. 🌿🤝💚

What an enjoyable and inspiring catch up earlier this week with Neighbourhood Support Waitematā District Coordinators at NBR 12 in Greenhithe. ☕💙
Over a cuppa and some shared kai, we enjoyed a productive discussion about what's happening in our communities, sharing ideas, successes, challenges, and updates from around the district. There is a lot happening behind the scenes including the development of some fabulous resources. 😊
Our meeting was a great reminder of the important role Neighbourhood Support plays in building connected, resilient, and caring communities. 🏡🤝

⚠️ Please take a moment to read this Police alert about an online scam that is currently circulating.
Sharing to help keep our community informed, aware, & safe💙

Police are urging members of the public to be aware of an online scam targeting people interested in attending fitness sessions in Auckland.

Victims have reported seeing Tai Chi classes being advertised on Facebook and asking them to register their interest.

After completing the online form the victims are contacted, usually via WhatsApp, and being instructed to download an app which is claimed to be used to book classes.

Once downloaded this app allows the scammers to access the victims bank accounts.
Multiple victims have reported losing large sums of money.

Police are advising the public to be aware of this scam and to not engage with anyone over WhatsApp about downloading apps onto their phone.

Anyone who would like to report an instance of this occurring or has information about those responsible is asked to update Police online now or call 105 using the reference number 260527/5473.

Information can also be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.

Autumn really does put on a beautiful show 🍂

This image of a lovely burst of colour in Rāhui Road is from a couple of weeks ago now. As we head into the heart of winter, the nature show is almost over for another year, but there are still trees with the last of their rich red, gold, and orange leaves waiting to fall and carpet the ground.

Makes it a pleasure to be out walking and enjoying the outdoors. 😊 And there is always the fun of autumn leaves crunching underfoot as you walk. 🍁🥾

Wishing our community a restful long weekend. ✨

📷 Thanks to Amanda for the image 🌳😊
