The most powerful humanitarian action is often shaped by lived experience.

For Hamsatu Umar, adversity became purpose, and today that purpose is helping vulnerable communities facing food insecurity build resilience, restore dignity, and find hope.

Behind every humanitarian response are people who turn compassion into action and solidarity into meaningful support for communities affected by crisis.

Today, we celebrate our dedicated humanitarian workers who serve with courage, compassion, and commitment, working alongside communities, protecting dignity, responding to needs, and helping create hope where it matters most.
We honour the people behind the work and the difference they make every day.

Happy International Humanitarian Day from all of us at Pro-Wellness Humanitarian Initiative.

Happy International Youth Day!

Today, we celebrate every young person out there- their dreams, their ideas, their voices, and their determination to create better lives for themselves and the communities around them.
We may come from different backgrounds and face different realities, but we share common aspirations: to have opportunities, to be heard, to grow, and to build a future where every young person can thrive.

Young people have a role to play in shaping that future. Our voices matter. Our ideas matter. Our contributions matter.
This International Youth Day, we celebrate the possibilities that emerge when young people are given the opportunity to participate, lead and make a difference.

Nutritious meals can start with the ingredients already available around us.

We recently held a practical cooking demonstration in Dalaram community, Maiduguri, aimed at equipping caregivers with the knowledge and skills to prepare nutritious meals that can support better nutrition for children. The session showcased how simple, locally available food items can be combined to prepare nutritious and balanced meals for children and families.

By promoting the use of foods that are accessible within the community, caregivers are better equipped to make affordable and sustainable choices that support better nutrition at home.
When caregivers have the right knowledge and skills, they can make a meaningful difference in the health and well-being of their children.

Today, our footsteps carried more than movement, they carried a message of hope.

As part of the World Breastfeeding Week 2026 commemoration, Pro-Wellness Humaniterian Initiative joined the Borno State Primary Healthcare Department agency and other partners for a road walk, taking the message of breastfeeding beyond health facilities and into the heart of our communities.

Every step was a call to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding, because when mothers are supported, children survive, grow, and thrive.

Pro-Wellness Humaniterian Initiative joined the Borno State Primary Healthcare Development agency and other stakeholders at the official flag-off of World Breastfeeding week2026 in Borno State.
theme: Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works."

The event served as a reminder that breastfeeding is one of the most effective ways to give every child a healthy start in life. Achieving this requires more than awareness, it demands supportive families, responsive health systems, enabling workplaces, and communities that empower every mother to breastfeed with confidence.

World Breastfeeding Week is a call to all of us to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding by replacing myths with facts and ensuring that no mother walks her breastfeeding journey alone.
Together, we can create a future where every child has the healthiest possible start.

Let's bust the myth: Breastfeeding is not the cause of breast sagging.
