FOOD DISTRIBUTION OUTREACH (SADAQA) – SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED.

On Saturday, 18th April 2026, Tamarind Initiative for Community Development (TICD) successfully carried out a food distribution exercise at Specialist Hospital, Damaturu.

Impact at a Glance:
1. About 70 patients reached
2. Distributed in Medical & Surgical Wards
3. Items included: Moi Moi, Pap, Oranges & Bananas

The outreach was made possible through the generous support of an anonymous donor, whose kindness brought relief and smiles to many patients.

Tamarind Initiative for Community Development (TICD) successfully conducted a JAMB CBT Training for over 50 SS3 students of Bukar Ali Government Day Science and Technical College, Damaturu, on 14th April, 2026.

The training equipped students with practical skills on CBT navigation, time management, answering techniques, and real exam simulation. This has helped improve their confidence, speed, and accuracy ahead of the 2026 UTME.

We appreciate the school management for their support and also the students’ active participation and remain committed to supporting quality education in our communities.

We also appreciate the management of TICD and SAND DUNES HOTELS for their support and funding the program.

Tamarind Initiative for Community Development (TICD) successfully conducted a JAMB CBT Training for over 50 SS3 students of Bukar Ali Government Day Science and Technical College, Damaturu, on 14th April, 2026.

The training equipped students with practical skills on CBT navigation, time management, answering techniques, and real exam simulation. This has helped improve their confidence, speed, and accuracy ahead of the 2026 UTME.

Tamarind Initiative for Community Development in Collaboration with SAND DUNES HOTEL Conduct a Career Talk at Bukar Ali Government Day Science and Technical College, Damaturu, Yobe State — November 7, 2025:

Tamarind Initiative for Community Development (TICD) organized a one-day Career Talk for Senior Secondary School students of Bukar Ali Government Day Science and Technical College, Damaturu.
The program, facilitated by TICD’s Members focused on helping students make informed career choices and emphasized the importance of skills acquisition for self-reliance and future success.
Speaking during the event, the facilitators urged students to explore their interests, set achievable goals, and combine education with practical skills. The session encouraged students to view technical and vocational training as key contributors to personal and community development.
Also focused on subject requirements/combination for students in their final-year national examinations and JAMB, which are essential for gaining admission into higher institutions in their chosen fields of study.
The school management expressed appreciation to TICD for its continuous support toward youth enlightenment and capacity building.
TICD remains committed to empowering young people through education, mentorship, and skill-oriented programs aimed at fostering a more productive and responsible generation.

TICD members/Officials carried out sanitation activities last weekend on Saturday July 12. The activities conducted in two communities of 3bed Room housing estate Gujba road and Obasanjo housing estate respectively.

Packing of waste dumped and cleaning around the incinerator environment in 3bed Room housing estate, same in Obasanjo estate a waste dumped improperly near the community hole which could also containment the water around, same packed and clear the drainage around that was full of nylons.
