The Gozo Action Group Foundation has been operating since 2008 with the aim of implementing the LEADER programme in the Gozo territory of Malta.

GAGF currently implements the Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan (CAP SP) for Malta 2023 – 2027.

🎉 GAGF held its LEADER Grant Agreement Presentation Ceremony on Friday, 23 October 2026, at Mro Vincenzo Caruana Spiteri Hall in Ta’ Sannat, celebrating beneficiaries selected under the CAP Strategic Plan 2023–2027 -LEADER. 🇪🇺

✨ The ceremony highlighted projects supporting Gozo’s cultural heritage and traditions, environmental sustainability, health and well-being, while bringing together stakeholders and community representatives to celebrate the positive impact of LEADER funding on rural development. 🌿

🤝 GAGF extends its heartfelt thanks to all beneficiaries, partners and stakeholders for their commitment to strengthening Gozitan communities. The evening concluded with a reception in the adjoining area of the hall, itself renovated with support through the LEADER programme. 👏

🤝 GAGF hosted a delegation of 15 participants from the Arad Est Local Action Group in Romania, currently visiting Gozo.

📍 As part of their study visit, the delegation visited a selection of LEADER-funded projects across the Gozo territory. The visits also provided an excellent opportunity for the Local Action Groups and beneficiaries to exchange experiences and share good practices.

📜 During a concluding meeting, the delegation met with GAGF Chairman Mr David Apap Agius, accompanied by Vice-Chairman Dr Raymond Xerri and Manager Mr Pierre Louis Attard. Discussions focused on the implementation of the Local Development Strategy, Community-Led Local Development (CLLD), and the experience of delivering EU-funded projects in the respective territories.

🤝The meeting also provided an opportunity to share observations, exchange feedback and draw conclusions from the study visit, before concluding with some informal refreshments and further discussion.

Discussions focused on the implementation of the Local Development Strategy, the Community-Led Local Development, and the experience of delivering EU-funded projects in the respective territories.

🌍 The visit provides an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences, share good practices and strengthen cooperation between Local Action Groups across Europe.
