Checkpoint Malta's usual testing on Gozo will be postponed until December, but you can still get FREE and CONFIDENTIAL testing in Malta through Checkpoint or through the Gozo Sexual Health Clinic and the Community Clinic!

Contact 21231231 to book your testing in Gozo for routine, asymptomatic STI screenings. The clinic is open twice a month on Saturdays. For symptomatic testing, contact the Gozo Sexual Health Clinic at GGH

🌈 It's European Testing Week, so LGBTI+ Gozo and Checkpoint Malta are highlighting the HIV and STI testing sites on Gozo! These services are here to help you check up on your status, get protected, and get information about your sexual health. Let's use our Gozitan services!

HIV and STI testing are available through Checkpoint Malta, the Gozo Sexual Health Clinic at the Gozo General Hospital, and Health & Wellbeing at Victoria Community Clinic. Call or email to book your appointment and ditch the doubt!

Checkpoint Malta has two upcoming testing dates this month, so contact [email protected] for free, fast, and confidential HIV, HEP B+C, and syphilis testing.

LGBTI+ Gozo at the ILGA-Europe Annual Conference 🌈🌎

Last week, our Community Officer Cat joined activists and change-makers across Europe and Central Asia to celebrate 30 years of ILGA Europe in Dublin, Ireland, under the theme 'Resist and Rise'. The conference included workshops, seminars, networking opportunities and countless discussions about the challenges and joys we face within the q***r movement. We also got to protest in solidarity with our LGBTIQ+ family in Turkey outside the Turkish embassy ✊

This conference was a reminder of our privilege here in Malta and the necessity to keep rising and resisting in the face of complacency and egocentrism. We can not stop advocating just because we have laws on paper. We must stand up, stand out, and speak up!!

✊🌈Join us in welcoming two new executives to the LGBTI+ Gozo team! Introducing Franny and Roseanne, vibrant activists who have already been contributing to the Gozitan community in big ways!

💃🏻Franny is a Maltese national who moved to Gozo in May 2024, where she has since made the island her home. She loves dancing, performing and organising events, as well as expressing her creativity through DIY projects and costume making. She also enjoys reading, listening to music, especially rock and heavy metal, and travelling, often to see her favourite bands live. She loves spending time with her pets, trying new hobbies and being part of the local community.

🌎Roseanne is a firm believer in social justice and making the world a safer, kinder place for everyone. She is mum to four furry babies 🐾, self proclaimed fun aunty, gardening lover and furniture-flipping enthusiast. When she's not working or getting creative, you’ll probably find her hiking, camping or chasing the next little adventure! 🌈💜 Roseanne has also been lending her skills as a volunteer social worker with LGBTI+ Gozo.

What being an executive entails:

- attend monthly executive meetings
- facilitate social events with the rest of the team
- help organise Gozo Pride
- help in whatever way you can! Through admin, funding applications, educational campaigns, graphic design, content creation and much more!
