The Spiderweb of Parental Alienation

Parental Alienation doesn’t just pit one parent against another. It spreads. Like a spiderweb, the threads stretch outward, touching everyone connected to the child, and the stickier it becomes, the harder it is to untangle.

The First Strand: The Child

The child is trapped at the center, pressured to believe lies, suppress love, and perform loyalty. They live in fear of choosing the “wrong” parent, constantly caught in sticky threads of guilt and manipulation.

The Next Strand: The Targeted Parent

The alienated parent is wrapped in the web too, silenced, discredited, and stripped of their rightful role. Their attempts to reach their child only pull the threads tighter, until every effort is twisted into “evidence” against them.

The Expanding Strands: The Family

Aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, and grandparents all get caught in the sticky web. They’re slowly erased from the child’s life, rewritten as unsafe, unnecessary, or irrelevant. Whole family trees are suffocated in silence, not because of truth but because of control.

The Outer Strands: The System

Then come the professionals. GALs, therapists, attorneys, and judges see the web, but instead of tearing it down, they reinforce it. Each “clarification process,” each “therapeutic intervention,” each new round of litigation becomes another sticky thread. The web grows, fed by billable hours and professional detachment.

The Reach of the Web

By the time it’s fully spun, alienation has consumed not just the relationship between parent and child, but the child’s entire sense of family and identity. It doesn’t just cut a child off from love today; it rewires how they view relationships for life.

Parental Alienation isn’t a custody dispute. It’s a spiderweb that traps children, parents, families, and entire generations.
