Div 2 week 12... the one where MIA faced off United We Bowl in a critical game
The Underdogs vs Strike Force 30-6
After last week's defeat against MIA , The Underdogs needed a big win to stay in touch and wait to see what was happening in the big match a couple of lanes away. Both teams needed a sub: David Fenech for The Underdogs and Fresh Silver Cup winner Kayden Zammit for Strike Force. The Underdogs really meant business and took all 3 team games and total 699-636, 694-677, 750-673 and 2143-1986, and only left 3 direct clashes on the table to take 30 critical points and close the gap to the top 2. Melvin Galea was in top form with a 573 that also made him high bowler of the week, while for Strike Force, sub Kayden was best with a 520.
Vintage vs BOV 22-14.
Vintage consolidated their 4th place with this win; Game 1 was relatively easy for them with a 645-564; game 2 saw them drop to a 602, while BOV shot a good 672 to take the win . Game 3 was super close; while BOV took 3 of the 4 direct matches, the total for that game went to Vintage with a 2 pin margin 670-668, and they also took the total by just 13 pins 1914-1904. Best for BOV was Mark Serge with a fine 504, while Marthese Cossai was best for her team with a 451.
United We Bowl vs MIA 12-24
This was the big game of the night as the 1st and 2nd placed teams before the night faced each other. United We Bowl started in the best way possible, running away with a 757-661 win , also winning 3 of the 4 direct matches. Game 2 however saw the tables turned completely as MIA shot a brilliant 784 vs 678 , and take 3 of the 4 direct clashes. All square at 10-10 after 2 games; MIA kept up their pressure with a 758, and while United We Bowl did shoot a 713, they only managed one more direct clash win, and the overall went to MIA with a 2203 vs 2148. MIA stay 1st, but have increased the gap to 15 points over United We Bowl. Best for United We Bowl was Celianne Micallef with her 496, while Aaron Belli was best for his team with a 568.
Lucky Strike vs Ready Steady Bowl. 10-26
Game 1 went to Lucky Strike with a 637-597; games 2 and 3 as well as the total however switched to Ready Steady Bowl, with scores of 651-629, 659-591 and 1907 to 1857. 8 of the 12 direct clashes went to Ready Steady Bowl to give them a good win and distance themselves from last placed Lucky Strike. Best for RSB was Jake Reed with a 435 while Joseph Zammit was best with a 386.
Next week the league skips a day and returns on the 27th of November.
