The Arnaud Guesry Foundation The Foundation took the decision in November to launch their first project, La Maison d'Arnaud, in the Diana region of Northern Madagascar.

The Arnaud Guesry Foundation was set up in early 2012 as a Malta registered NGO which aims to provide a residential centre for children affected by orphanhood, abandonment, neglect or abuse in Madagascar. The Arnaud Guesry Foundation was set up in early 2012 as a Malta registered NGO which aims to provide a residential centre for children affected by orphanhood, abandonment, neglect or abuse. The

project has obtained it Accord De Siege from the relevant ministries in Antananarivo, and is currently based in the northern region of Diana where it is operating out of a temporary rented facility in the town centre. La Maison d'Arnaud proudly opened its doors to its first residents on the 8th May 2013. The construction of a purpose built facility will run in parallel to the start up activities and is scheduled for completion in mid 2014. As a new NGO we welcome all our visitors to the site and invite you to contact us with any other information you might need through our contacts page. CHARTER

The initial objective of the Foundation is to build an Orphanage in the area of Antsiranana, in Madagascar, to host about 50 orphan children. It is thus a Foundation with purely philanthropic and charitable aims. Other projects of a similar nature may be undertaken in the future at the discretion of the Board of Administrators. The Foundation does not plan to promote adoption, but rather to raise the children until they are independent, providing health-care, education and training. The Foundation will accept children of both sexes, under one year of age, even if they are sick, except if H.I.V. positive or if they need expensive treatment that, in the opinion of the Board of Administrators, goes beyond the finances or capabilities of the Foundation. The Foundation will provide food, clothing, lodging, and medical care whenever necessary. It will also seek to maintain a safe environment where all precautions will be enforced rigorously to protect the moral and physical integrity of these children. The Foundation will attempt to additionally provide psychological stimulation, and good basic education. The Orphanage/s must be a source of love and care, in order to foster harmonious physical, neurological and psychological development. The staff selected to operate/manage the orphanage/s will be ideally local people. This is being done in order to maintain Malagasy roots. The Foundation is incorporated in Malta as a Non-Governmental Organisation (N.G.O.) and also as a ‘civil person’ in terms of the ‘Register of Persons’ under the Civil Code (Cap.16) of the Laws of Malta. The Foundation has been initially funded by the Founders’ endowment, and is to be managed according to the principles of ‘bonus paterfamilias’ by a Board of Administrators, and in accordance with the rules and principles of the laws of Malta and in accordance with any applicable laws and regulations of the European Union.

Vive la rentrée !

This is always such an exciting period as the new school year begins after the long summer holidays, les grandes vacances. For the Malagasy community, and especially for parents, it is also one of the biggest challenges and worries.

In Antanamitarana, many children drop out of school simply because their parents cannot afford the costs related to education. That is why La Maison d’Arnaud has been committed to supporting children’s education in our community, with a special focus on young girls — giving them access to learning and helping them pursue their dreams.

As part of this action, we provide school supplies for the year, school registration fees, and school uniforms. For the past 4 years, we have been sponsoring the education of 40 children from underserved families as well as 20 children in our care and custody.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all our donors, and particularly to Mr. Jacques Icard, for making this possible. 💙

Summer School Update – Week 3

We are now in our third week of summer schol, full of energy and excitement and hope!
Our biggest chellenge and gratest mission is to gradually devolop our children's skills in a meaningful and joyful way.
We're thrilled to share how much progress our children are making. Many of them are starting to enjoy reading and counting, thanks to our "learning through fun" approach!
Health and hygien are also part of our syllabus. Our recent denatal hygiene was especially engaging. Some of the children weren't familiar with the concept od brushing teeth, so we made it an enjoyable and playful experience. It was a huge success!
One of our childre's favourite classes is CHESS! We were amaezed at how strategic their minds ares and surprised us. Because of their enthusiam, we"re excited to annouce you plans to open Chess Club atfer the summer school.
This year, we also introduced a new Art class : Knittind and Crochet. The children were fascinated to dicover this craft, and their motivation is inspiring. We'are already consodering a sustainable outreach program based on their interest.
And of course the most anticipated activity is the Dance class, where we're focusing on African rythms this year. The children's joy and talent are simply heartwarming, we can't wait to show you their performance soon.
Thnak you for follong our journey !
