Bonsai Exhibitions & Information BCG- Malta was founded in 1992 to promote the art of Bonsai in Malta.

It organises weekly lectures and workshops (on Thursday evenings) at its club premises and garden. The club holds exhibitions of Bonsai with its Annual Exhibition in the first week-end of June. The Group maintains various overseas contacts with Bonsai organisations, notably with several Italian clubs which form part of the UBI Unione Bonsaisti Italiani.

It was a great workshop. Thank you All for participating in today’s 'Saturday Bonsai' workshop and sharing the day with us. We extend our sincere appreciation to bonsai master Csaba Szimon from Hungary for his valuable dedicated work on some of our prebonsai. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we look forward to future collaborations. We hope you enjoy the remainder of your holiday in Malta.

This evening's lecture focused on a newly proposed species, for bonsai, Duranta erecta. It was well-attended. Dr. Grech delivered a detailed presentation focusing on its propagation through seeds, cuttings, and air-layering. As practical experience is gained in the coming years, further knowledge regarding its cultivation and maintenance will be documented and shared.

Following the lecture, a plant sale featuring Duranta erecta saplings and seedlings was held. All proceeds will be generously donated to Puttinu Cares.
