Off to Cambodia! 🇰🇭

🇬🇧 Our Chief Commissioner, Deputy Chief Commissioner and International Commissioner are on their way to the 39th WAGGGS World Conference in Siem Reap Province, hosted by the Girl Guides Association of Cambodia! 🌍✈️

We are proud to represent Malta Girl Guides alongside fellow members of the global Guiding movement and look forward to sharing, learning and shaping the future of Guiding together.

🇬🇧 Today is a reminder of the importance of democracy and active citizenship 🗳️

Through our new Active Citizenship & Democracy Badge, Brownies, Guides and Rangers learn how democratic societies work, why participation matters, and how they can make a positive difference in their communities.

As a girls-only organisation, we are committed to empowering girls and young women to find their voice, become leaders and play an active role in shaping society. Strong democracies need diverse voices and greater female representation helps ensure that decision-making reflects the communities it serves!

Together, we are helping to raise the next generation of informed, engaged and active citizens 💛

🇲🇹 Illum niftakru fl-importanza tad-demokrazija u ċ-ċittadinanza attiva 🗳️

Permezz tal-𝘈𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 & 𝘋𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘺 𝘉𝘢𝘥𝘨𝘦, il-Brownies, il-Guides u r-Rangers jitgħallmu kif jaħdmu s-soċjetajiet demokratiċi, għaliex il-parteċipazzjoni hija importanti, u kif jistgħu jagħmlu differenza pożittiva fil-komunitajiet tagħhom!

Bħala għaqda għall-bniet, aħna impenjati li nagħtu s-setgħa lill-bniet u n-nisa żgħażagħ biex isibu leħinhom, jiżviluppaw il-ħiliet ta’ tmexxija tagħhom u jkollhom rwol attiv fit-tiswir tas-soċjetà. Demokrazija b’saħħitha teħtieġ vuċijiet diversi, u rappreżentanza akbar tan-nisa tgħin biex it-teħid tad-deċiżjonijiet jirrifletti aħjar il-komunitajiet li naqdu!

F’dan il-Jum tal-Elezzjoni, infakkru li ċ-ċittadinanza attiva tibda ferm qabel ma wieħed jitfa’ l-vot tiegħu. Flimkien, qed ngħinu biex inrawmu ġenerazzjoni ta’ ċittadini infurmati, impenjati u attivi!

🇬🇧 Last week, we held this year’s elections within Malta Girl Guides 🗳️

Thank you to all eligible members who took part in the voting process. We are pleased to announce that Louisa Grech has been elected as Training Commissioner, while Andrea Grima has been re-elected as Programme Commissioner. Antoniette and Rebecca were elected as South District Commissioners, Katya and Joyce as Central District Commissioners, and Tamaia and Emily as North District Commissioners.

Congratulations and thank you for offering your time, commitment and service to Malta Girl Guides! We wish you all the very best in your new roles!

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our outgoing National Board members, Analise, Gwen and Stephanie, for their dedication and valuable work throughout the years 🫶🏼

🇬🇧 Honoured that Malta Girl Guides were represented at this meeting dedicated to collaboration, youth empowerment and the development of human skills that support young people across diverse communities and sectors.

Our Deputy Chief Commissioner, Elaine Attard and Young National Board Member, Jessica Sciberras attended on behalf of MGG, contributing to conversations centered on shared learning, cooperation and the value of a common framework of human skills that supports young people across different settings.

The meeting provided a valuable space for exchanging perspectives and reinforcing collective efforts towards empowering young people through lifelong learning and holistic development🌍

🇬🇧 Sharing some moments from The Brownie Quest: 8-Point Challenge ✨💛

A huge thank you to the Service Dogs Malta Foundation for joining us and teaching us about the amazing work service dogs do 🐾 We were also happy to present them with a donation.

As part of our Service point, we collected cat and dog food which was donated to CSAF - Carers for Stray and Abandoned Felines 🐶🐱

🇬🇧 We’re excited to share that the Malta Girl Guides is one of the beneficiaries of the 2026 Community Support Scheme, awarded by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector.

This funding will go towards much-needed upgrades at our Pembroke Training Centre, a space that means a lot to us. It’s where our volunteers are trained, where our girls create memories through sleepovers and camps, and where the 2nd Pembroke Girl Guides Unit meets every week.

We’re grateful for this support as we continue to invest in safe, inspiring spaces for girls and young women to grow!

🇲🇹 Ninsabu eċċitati biex naqsmu li Malta Girl Guides hija waħda mill-benefiċjarji tal-𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘚𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘦 tal-2026, mogħtija mill-Kunsill Malti għas-Settur Volontarju.

Dan il-finanzjament se jmur għal titjib tant meħtieġ fiċ-Ċentru ta’ Taħriġ tagħna f’Pembroke, spazju li jfisser ħafna għalina. Huwa fejn il-voluntiera tagħna jiġu mħarrġa, fejn il-bniet tagħna joħolqu memorji permezz ta’ sleepovers u kampijiet, u fejn 2nd Pembroke Girl Guides Unit jiltaqa’ kull ġimgħa.

🇬🇧 Yesterday evening, members of Malta Girl Guides were honoured to attend the 15-year celebration of Aġenzija Żgħażagħ.

The event also marked the final public address by Ms Miriam Theuma, and we would like to thank her for her dedication, commitment, and service over the past 15 years.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Aġenzija Żgħażagħ for their constant support towards youth organisations and young people across Malta. Congratulations on this important milestone 💙

🇲🇹 Ilbieraħ filgħaxija, membri tal-Malta Girl Guides kellhom l-unur li jattendu ċ-ċelebrazzjoni tal-15-il sena tal-Aġenzija Żgħaġa.
