Our mission is to save what remains of the historic estate of Villa Frere, Pieta', Malta. Entrance is through the Grounds of St.

Luke's Hospital

🌿 VILLA FRERE OPEN DAY – NEW DATE! 🌿

Please note that our next Open Day will not be taking place on the first Sunday of the month as usual, but will instead be held on Sunday, 8 November 2026, from 9:30am to 4:30pm.

We look forward to welcoming you for another lovely day in the gardens!

Come and spend a morning or afternoon discovering one of Malta’s historic gardens, join one of our guided tours, and support the ongoing restoration of Villa Frere.

All donations go towards the continued restoration and upkeep of the gardens.

A big thank you to all those who visited Villa Frere last Sunday, during our first open day after summer. With over three hundred people coming over, this was one of the best ever! Special thanks to our volunteers who helped prepare for and throughout the busy event. We hope that next month will be better still! 😊💚

🌿 Villa Frere is reopening its doors! 🌿

The gardens will once again be open to the public on Sunday, 4 October, from 9:30am to 4:30pm.

Come and spend a morning or afternoon discovering one of Malta’s historic gardens, join one of our guided tours, and support the ongoing restoration of Villa Frere.

Dear Friends,
As we head into the beating height of summer, our indomitable volunteers are working hard at maintaining and irrigating the gardens (so far the water supply coming directly from last winter's bountiful rainfall harvested underground!). As temperatures soar, we abide by a strict regime of sweeping stairs and terraces, pruning and clearing dried vegetation and staying vigilant to ensure that there are no fire hazards.

Operations on various fronts are also underway including restoration of rubble walls damaged during past storms as well as repairing deffun roofs and pathways. Upgrading of the main entrance to the gardens together with the Visitor Centre is also in full swing, all hoping to be completed by the time we reopen in cooler October!

Whilst we thank you for your patience and support we appeal to anyone willing to assist us during these challenging months to get in touch by sending us a message. 🙏💚

We’re treating you to an extra day of springtime magic at the gardens of Villa Frere! 🌸

Wander through blooming gardens, soak in the peace and tranquillity, and savour the beauty of the season.

Dearest Friends, Come and and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the gardens on Sunday 3rd May. We are thrilled to share with you a new part of the garden! 🌳We will be open from 9:30am till 16:30hrs. The gardens are full of Spring colors.
Adults are kindly requested to pay a 5 euro entrance donation at the door. Children enter for free. The gardens are dog friendly as long as they are kept on a lead at all times. We will be selling plants, succulents, refreshments. Entrance is through the gates of St. Luke's then please follow the signs. We are next door to the Pieta Primary School behind Karen Grech hospital. You can drive in as there is a large parking. We will be honoured by the Malta Regency dances. There will be a tour in English at 10:30am and one in Maltese at 12:30pm. All proceeds will go for the upkeep and continues restoration of the gardens. We look forward to giving you all a warm welcome. 🙏💚❤️
