The Business Council of Mongolia, in cooperation with the Bank of Mongolia and Mongolian Stock Exchange, is pleased to host “Mongolia’s 2027 Economic and Investment Outlook” on 29 October 2026.

The event will feature Mr. E. Orchlon, Founder and CEO of URECA LLC and Vice Chair of the Business Council of Mongolia, as a panelist for the discussion “Mongolia 2027 Economic and Investment Outlook: Opportunities and Implications for Businesses.”

Mr. Orchlon brings over 10 years of experience in investment management, project finance, renewable energy, and infrastructure development. Prior to founding URECA, an international climate technology company, he served as Executive Board Member and Chief Investment Officer of Newcom Group and Principal Advisor to Rio Tinto. He also led the development of the 50 MW Tsetsii Wind
Farm in Mongolia's Gobi Desert as CEO of Clean Energy Asia LLC.

He holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from New York University and was recognized in Forbes Asia's 30 Under 30 list in 2019 for his contributions to renewable energy development. He currently serves as Chair of BCM's Sustainability Finance Advisory Council.

His extensive experience in investment, renewable energy, and sustainable finance will bring valuable private-sector perspectives to discussions on Mongolia's 2027 economic and investment outlook.

The event will feature Mr. L. Bayarmagnai, Head of the Sustainable Development and Projects Department at Erdenes Tavantolgoi JSC, as a panelist for the discussion “Mongolia 2027 Economic and Investment Outlook: Opportunities and Implications for Businesses.”

Mr. Bayarmagnai brings 16 years of professional experience at Erdenes Tavantolgoi JSC, specializing in coal markets, corporate strategic planning, major project implementation, and sustainable development policies. His expertise encompasses the development and ex*****on of large-scale projects, strategic business planning, and initiatives supporting the long-term sustainability of Mongolia's mining sector.

He is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the University of Finance and Economics. His extensive industry experience will bring valuable perspectives to discussions on Mongolia's 2027 coal export outlook, infrastructure development, corporate governance, and investment opportunities.

The event will feature Mr. B. Anar, Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Mongolian Stock Exchange, who will deliver opening remarks.

Mr. Anar brings 18 years of experience in public financial management, economic and fiscal policy, investment policy, and development financing. Prior to joining the Mongolian Stock Exchange, he served as Economic and Budget Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister of Mongolia. He has also held senior positions at the Ministry of Finance, the Development Bank of Mongolia, and the Ministry of Economy and Development, including serving as State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Director of the Investment Policy Department.

He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the National University of Mongolia and a master's degree in Public Financial Management from Georgia State University in the United States. His extensive experience in fiscal policy, economic management, and investment planning will bring valuable perspectives to discussions on Mongolia's 2027 economic and investment outlook.

Business4Land After COP17: A First Look at “The Business Case for Land”

The Business Council of Mongolia invites the business community to participate in an upcoming webinar organized by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) through its Business4Land (B4L) initiative.

Following COP17 in Ulaanbaatar, the webinar will highlight key outcomes for the private sector and discuss the next steps for the Business4Land initiative.

Participants will also receive an introduction to “The Business Case for Land,” a five-module training programme developed in collaboration with the Economics of Land Degradation (ELD) Initiative and GIZ. The session will feature practical insights from a company and a B4L Hub on applying the programme.

The webinar is particularly relevant to professionals working in sustainability, sourcing, risk management, and finance.

The Business Council of Mongolia (BCM) congratulates its member, Khan Bank JSC, on securing a USD 130 million green financing package in partnership with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and other international financial institutions.

The five-year agreement marks AIIB’s first private-sector investment in Mongolia and its first financing partnership with a Mongolian financial institution. The financing package includes USD 80 million from AIIB, USD 20 million from Korea Development Bank (KDB), and USD 30 million from two other participating Asian banks.

The financing will support environmentally sustainable projects across Mongolia, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, green buildings, pollution prevention, water management, and clean transportation.

BCM welcomes this significant development, which will expand access to long-term green financing and contribute to Mongolia’s sustainable economic growth.

The event will feature Mr. E. Mendtuvshin, Member of the Board of Directors of Oyu Tolgoi LLC, as a panelist for the discussion “Mongolia 2027 Economic and Investment Outlook: Opportunities and Implications for Businesses.”

Mr. Mendtuvshin was appointed to the Board of Directors of Oyu Tolgoi LLC in November 2024. He brings extensive international experience in corporate law, investment, and financial transactions, having previously worked at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in Hong Kong, Morgan Stanley, and Hogan Lovells LLP in Ulaanbaatar.

Throughout his career, he has advised on complex cross-border transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financing, international public offerings, and corporate restructuring across the Asia-Pacific region and the United States.

Mr. Mendtuvshin holds a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Laws from Peking University. He is also admitted to the New York Bar.

Drawing on his international legal and financial expertise, Mr. Mendtuvshin will bring valuable perspectives on Mongolia’s investment environment, capital markets, and opportunities for businesses in 2027.

TDB Securities Partners with Japan’s News Securities to Strengthen Capital Market Cooperation

BCM member TDB Securities has signed a comprehensive business cooperation agreement with Japan’s News Securities Co., Ltd., building on a year of collaboration and information exchange between the two companies.

The partnership aims to strengthen connections between investors and businesses in Mongolia and Japan by introducing Mongolia’s investment opportunities to Japanese investors while facilitating greater access to Japan’s capital markets for Mongolian investors and companies.

Signed ahead of the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Japan in 2027, the agreement represents an important step toward expanding cross-border investment cooperation and strengthening Mongolia’s presence in international capital markets.
