Too Many Children Have Been Out of School for Years. It’s Time to Bring Them Back.

There are too many children in our communities who have been out of school for one year, two years, three years, or even longer.

Every year a child remains outside the classroom for another year of learning lost, opportunities delayed, and dreams placed at risk.

At Upskill Africa Foundation (UAF), we believe that being out of school for years should not become a permanent condition.

Through our No Invisible Child (NIC) Initiative, we are working with schools and collaborative implementing partners to identify these children, engage their families, and create pathways for them to return to school and continue their education.

This work requires more than identifying children. It requires potential schools willing to receive them, engaging people and institutions willing to support them, parents and guardians willing to participate, and partners willing to work together.

🤝 That is why we are building partnerships with schools and local organizations, to make re-enrollment possible for children who have been left behind.

A child who has been out of school for three years still deserves a classroom.

A child who has missed years of learning still deserves another chance.

Being out of school should not mean being forgotten.

Together with our NIC collaborative partners, we are working to bring children back to school, because every child deserves the opportunity to learn.

NO INVISIBLE CHILD.

Every child seen. Every child supported. Every child back to learning.

UAF Wins 1st Place in National Vision Plan Competition 🏆🇱🇷

We are proud and excited to announce that Upskill Africa Foundation (UAF) emerged 1st Place in the National Vision Plan Competition hosted by Project Change International during the Change Makers Conference, held August 11–14, 2026.

UAF was represented by our Executive Director, Chris Nen Torbor, and Finance Assistant, John Munyeneh, who proudly presented our vision and commitment to creating sustainable solutions for vulnerable families and children.

🏆 Our winning project: Household Empowerment Project (HEP)

Through HEP, UAF will empower parents and caregivers of identified Out-of-School Children (OOSC) with practical livelihood and income-generating opportunities. The goal is to help families strengthen their economic capacity so they can better support their children's education, enrollment, and continued retention in school.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Project Change International for creating this incredible platform, investing in changemakers, and giving us the opportunity to present a solution to a challenge that continues to affect many children and families in Liberia.

We also celebrate the lessons, teamwork, connections, shared experiences, and inspiration gained throughout the Change Makers Conference.

This victory is not just a prize, it is a renewed commitment to making sure no child is left behind in education.

The No Invisible Child (NIC) Initiative is gradually making progress toward the 2026/2027 academic year.

Following our impactful kick-off workshop, we did not just discuss the challenges—we are taking action for underprivileged children who are out of school.

Our mission is clear: Identify. Advocate. Support. Teach. Reintegrate.

Through these actions, we are committed to reducing the number of out-of-school children in Liberia and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve their full potential.

No child should be invisible. Every child deserves an education.
