On behalf of the Leadership and membership of the Intellectual Class of Paynesville, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to our distinguished member, Mr. Forkpayea Mulbah, on the successful defense of your Master’s thesis at the prestigious University of Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan.

Your research on hydrometallurgical recovery of valuable metals from lead concentrates is timely and impactful, addressing real-world challenges in sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental protection. This achievement is a personal victory and a source of pride and inspiration for our entire intellectual community.

NASSCORP Director General Dewitt B. VonBallmoos, Is Not the Only Qualified Liberian!

Liberia is filled with competent, educated, and experienced professionals who are equally—if not more—qualified to serve in top positions. The continued stay of the current Director General at NASSCORP for nearly 19 years, in violation of the law, sends a dangerous message that one person is indispensable.

This is unacceptable in a democratic society. Public offices are not personal properties they are entrusted positions meant for rotation, growth, and innovation.

You have stay too long at NASSCORP, Give others the chance to serve. Liberia belongs to all of us—not a privileged few.

PETITION TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA.

Subject: Call for Immediate Action to Replace the Overstayed Director General of NASSCORP

President of the Republic of Liberia

August 11, 2025

The Intellectual Class of Paynesville, write to express our deep concern regarding the continued service of the current Director General of the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP), who has held this position for over nineteen (19) years, contrary to the legal mandate.
According to Part 89.5 of the NASSCORP Act, the tenure of the Director General is limited to a maximum of two five-year terms (10 years total). The current Director General has overstayed this period by nearly a decade. This continued violation of the law undermines public confidence, sets a bad precedent for leadership transitions, and weakens our institutions.
We therefore respectfully petition your office to:

1. Enforce the NASSCORP Act by initiating the process to replace the overstayed Director General.

2. Reaffirm your commitment to lawful governance and institutional accountability.

The leadership of the Intellectual Class of Paynesville acknowledges with gratitude the receipt of an invitation from the office of District 4 Lawmaker, Hon. Michael M. Thomas, to attend his first annual District Report scheduled this Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025. We are honored to have been invited and look forward to critiquing what's in the report with honesty and also join in celebrating the achievements and progress made in the district.
