Yesterday our Executive Director, Taweh Johnson , had the honor of serving as Master of Ceremonies at the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons event organized by the Government of Liberia's Ministry of Labour, with support from partners, at the Administrative Building in Kakata, Margibi County.

This year's global theme, "Trapped Behind the Scam," highlights how false information and deception fuel human trafficking.

The event brought together senior government officials, U.S. Embassy representatives, civil society organizations, and community members to strengthen awareness and collaboration.

As a member of Liberia's Trafficking in Persons Taskforce, Campaigners against misinfo & disinfo in Liberia remains committed to combating false information and supporting efforts to end human trafficking.

The World Day Against Trafficking in Persons is an international observance held every year on July 30 to raise awareness about human trafficking and protect the rights of survivors.

Earlier this week our Executive Director, Taweh Johnson, had the honor of accepting an invitation from H.E. Mrs. Isabelle Le Guellec, Ambassador of France to Liberia, and H.E. Mr. Jakob Haselhuber, Ambassador of Germany to Liberia, to attend a cocktail reception marking the inauguration of the Cultural Café of the Alliance Française of Monrovia.

The Cultural Café is more than a gathering space. It serves as a vibrant hub for cultural exchange, language learning, and artistic development.

The Inclusive Africa Conference, hosted by inABLE, is the largest disability and digital inclusion event in Africa. Since 2020, it has advanced digital accessibility and assistive technology for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). Discussions cover key areas like employment, education, innovation, and financial services, driving more inclusive products and services that create equitable opportunities.

This year the conference will engage disability and accessibility experts, individuals with lived experiences, policymakers, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, businesses, and governments to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and reinforce the commitment to leaving no one behind.
