A year has passed since Hurricane Melissa, but for many families in Jamaica, recovery is still part of everyday life.

Returning to serve as this anniversary approached was bittersweet. We saw communities still rebuilding, heard stories of loss, and felt the weight of how much remains to be done. We also experienced their warmth firsthand—the smiles that welcomed us, the kindness extended to our team, and the gratitude shared so freely. Their resilience will stay with us. ❤️🧡💛

Through our April and October missions, CHWF’s 2026 Hurricane Recovery Program reached three impacted communities, 3 disaster shelter’s housing displaced families,, and supported Cornwall Regional Hospital with healthcare services, care packages, and essential supplies. We are grateful to have contributed to a recovery that requires continued care and investment.

This anniversary reminds us why we serve and why we must keep showing up for those in need.

Day 2 brought this powerhouse crew to Vaughnafield Primary School in Flamstead Gardens—and we came with purpose, skills, and a whole lot of heart.

Health screenings. Education. Meaningful conversations. Time spent listening, connecting, and reminding people that their health matters and their community matters. ❤️🧡💛

Behind these smiles are people who made room in their lives to show up for someone else. Every volunteer brought something essential. Together, this crew came to WORK—and love on our people along the way. 🙌🏾

To the community that welcomed us and the partners and supporters who helped us get here: you are part of every connection made and every person served.

From Rosemount to Flamstead Gardens, the mission moves forward. No community left behind.

Today, our CHWF volunteers serve at Rosemount Missionary Church in Montego Bay, bringing health screenings, education, and a commitment to making every person we meet feel seen, heard, and cared for.

Behind this photo are months of preparation and people who gave their time, talents, and resources to make this day possible. Today, that generosity becomes a blood pressure checked, a concern heard, a connection made.

Our entire volunteer team is Jamaica bound! Wishing safe travels to everyone flying in from New York, Florida, Texas, and Georgia.

🌟 Meet Dr. Nicole | Niks 🌟

Nicole is a doctorally prepared Nurse Practitioner with over 21 years of nursing experience spanning transplant care and general and interventional cardiology. Her career reflects a longstanding commitment to compassionate patient care, health education, and disease prevention.

As a key member of CHWF’s leadership team, Dr. Nicole has been instrumental in turning the foundation’s vision into meaningful community outreach since its inception. She helps guide the planning, coordination, and delivery of our medical missions, bringing clinical expertise and a deep understanding of the work required to serve communities well. Her involvement spans every stage—from preparing behind the scenes to standing alongside fellow volunteers, providing clinical care, conducting screenings, and educating participants. She is a trusted leader whose sustained commitment has helped build the foundation for CHWF’s work and continues to shape its impact.

🌿 Beyond her clinical practice, she is the founder of The Nature Rx, a community-centered wellness initiative that encourages connection, movement, and healing through nature. Through shared outdoor experiences, she creates space for people to step away from daily demands, reconnect with themselves and others, and make intentional time for their well-being. The Nature Rx LLC extends her commitment to prevention beyond the clinical setting, inviting people to embrace nature as part of caring for their physical and emotional health.

🇯🇲 Born and partially raised in Jamaica, Dr. Nicole brings a deeply personal sense of purpose to her service. Giving back is a way to honor her roots, strengthen access to healthcare, and equip individuals with knowledge to take an active role in their health.

Her leadership is woven into CHWF’s story—and her dedication continues to carry our mission forward. ❤️🧡💛
