✈️🐾 Already have a flight booked and love animals?

Become a Flight Angel and help a rescued Jamaican dog or cat reach their forever home!

There is absolutely no cost to you. We handle all paperwork, export requirements, and provide everything needed for the journey. All you have to do is travel as planned! We bring the animal to you at the airport in Jamaica, and their new family will be waiting to meet them when you land.

It's one of the easiest and most rewarding ways to make a difference. By helping one animal get to its new home, you're also helping us create space to rescue another animal in need. In many cases, your flight helps save two lives. ❤️

Whether you're traveling next week or several months from now, we'd love to have you sign up. The more advance notice we have, the better, as we typically need about a week to complete the export process and paperwork.

If you have any questions, send us a DM or email us at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]).

Ready to become a Flight Angel? The sign-up link is in our bio and on our website.

Help us continue giving rescued animals the second chance they deserve. 🐶🐱🙏

🦟❤️ One of the questions I ask is whether dogs are protected against heartworms. The answers I hear most often are:

🐾 "But I deworm them."
🐾 "I give them NexGard."

Unfortunately, neither of these automatically means a dog is protected from heartworm disease.

Regular dewormers do not prevent heartworms, and standard NexGard only treats fleas and ticks. Many people also confuse NexGard with Heartgard, but they are very different products. Heartgard contains ivermectin, which helps prevent heartworm disease, while NexGard does not.

It's worth noting that NexGard PLUS does include heartworm prevention, but it is a different product from regular NexGard and should be used under the guidance of your veterinarian.

Heartworms are spread by mosquitoes and can cause serious damage to the heart, lungs, and blood vessels. Many infected dogs show few or no symptoms until the disease has become advanced, making prevention especially important.

⚠️ Before starting any heartworm preventative, your dog should be tested for heartworms. Giving preventative medication to a dog that is already infected can be dangerous. Always consult your veterinarian before starting any medication or preventative program.

The good news is that heartworm prevention is available right here in Jamaica. Heartgard can be found at veterinary clinics, pharmacies, and Hi-Pro stores, and there are other veterinary-approved preventatives available as well.

A simple monthly preventative is far safer, easier, and less expensive than treating heartworm disease—and it could save your dog's life. ❤️🐾

🐾 It's $5 Dollar Friday! 🐾

Meet little Mabel, a tiny kitten rescued from a rooftop in the rain in Spanish Town by a kind-hearted lady who not only saved her from the elements but also protected her from a neighbor who wanted to hit her with a broom.

Thanks to that act of compassion, Mabel is now safe, loved, and receiving the care she needs. Mabel is being treated for parasites, fleas and getting tests to make sure she is safe and healthy. She isn't ready for adoption just yet, but when she is, we'll let everyone know. She'll be looking for a loving forever home where she'll never have to face hardship again.

This is why your donations matter. Every rescue comes with costs, and we can't do it without your support.

If you can spare just $5 today, you'll be helping Mabel and so many others like her. ❤️🐱

Alright everyone, we know we've been a little quieter than usual lately, but we've had a LOT happening behind the scenes! 🐾

Last week, we picked up two sweet kitties from Sandals Dunn's River. They have loving homes waiting for them in Pennsylvania, and we're now trying to find flights to get them there as soon as possible! ✈️🐱🐱

The week before that, we rescued a lovely dog from Iberostar who is headed all the way to Newfoundland! 🇨🇦 Her transport from Toronto to Newfoundland is already being arranged, but we'd love to find a flight volunteer to help get her from Jamaica to Toronto and reduce the overall cost of her journey. 🐶❤️

And finally, remember Peewee and Herman? Their foster completely fell in love and officially adopted them! 🥰 Even better, they referred a friend who decided to adopt one of the kittens we rescued just before Hurricane Melissa. That lucky kitten also needs a flight to Toronto ASAP! 🐱✈️

So, here's what we're currently looking for:

🐾 2 flight volunteers traveling to Pennsylvania on American Airlines or JetBlue for two in-cabin kitties.

🐾 At least 1 flight volunteer traveling to Toronto on Caribbean Airlines to transport a dog and a cat in the cargo hold.

🐾 Alternatively, 1 flight volunteer on Air Transat to Toronto, the dog in the hold the cat in cabin

🐾 Or just 1 flight volunteer on Air Canada to es**rt the kitten traveling in-cabin to Toronto.

If you have a flight booked to any of these destinations—or know someone who does—please reach out! And even if you're flying somewhere else on one of our partner airlines, we encourage you to sign up as a Flight Angel. We can always reach out if a transport opportunity matches your travel plans. ✈️🐾

Things have been busy, but that's a good problem to have. Every transport means another animal gets a chance at the life they deserve, and none of it would be possible without your support. Thank you for helping us save lives, one flight at a time. ❤️🙏

People who care about animals, especially in Jamaica, are tired. Actually exhausted. The mental toll witnessing and experiencing this abuse and mistreatment daily really takes a toll that most people don't understand.

Anyway here's my rant for today following up on Sharon's post yesterday about the lives of our Jamaican racehorses. Please take the time to read this post and maybe even share it with someone else who may not be aware. A lot of people just ignore what they can't see or don't know. So we hope by sharing these stories and never staying silent that, someday, something will change.

All this to say: Jamaica, do better!!

Thanks for coming to our tED Talk 🙃😩

Horse racing is often celebrated as sport and entertainment, but I see it very differently. Behind the glamour, betting, and tradition is an industry where animals bear all the risks while humans collect the rewards.

Horses are living, feeling beings — not commodities to be bred, pushed beyond their limits, traded, injured, and too often discarded when they are no longer profitable. They do not choose to race, gamble, or participate in this system.

And when many of these horses are no longer useful on the track, they are sold off to anyone willing to buy them, with little care about where they end up. Too often, they fall into the hands of people running illegal horseback riding “tours,” where they are overworked, neglected, injured, and treated as disposable tools to make money.

Supporting horse racing means supporting an industry that frequently places profit above animal welfare from beginning to end. We can enjoy sport, recreation, and tradition without exploiting animals in the process.

Compassion should matter more than entertainment, gambling, or profit. It’s time we start questioning systems that normalize suffering for the sake of spectacle.

PLEASE PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ!

Fostering. Fostering. Fostering.
I know I sound like a broken record constantly talking about it, begging for it, stressing how important it is… but fostering truly saves lives.

Every time someone opens their home, even temporarily, it creates space for another animal in need. One foster home can mean the difference between a scared puppy staying on the streets or finally getting safety, food, love, and medical care.

Rescues like ours can only do so much without the community stepping in. We are overwhelmed with puppies, kittens, injured animals, abandoned pets, and emergency cases every single week. Kennels fill up quickly, vet bills pile up, and sometimes all an animal really needs is a safe couch, a spare room, and someone willing to care for them for a little while.

And while we are trying to save the animals already here, breeders continue adding more puppies and kittens into an already overflowing situation. Every day we see unwanted litters, dumped animals, and pets struggling on the streets while shelters and rescues are stretched beyond capacity. The reality is that breeding does not help the crisis we are facing.

You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t need a huge house. You just need compassion. We help with guidance, supplies when possible, and support along the way.

Fosters are the bridge between rescue and forever homes. Without fosters, many animals simply don’t get the chance they deserve.

So yes… I’ll probably keep sounding like a broken record about fostering. Because it matters that much. ❤️

Happy Sunday morning everyone ☀️🥵

Here’s something different to distract from the week… and this HEAT 😅

Can you find the lizard? 🦎👀
Hint: it’s on the LEFT!

This is the perfect example of how amazing camouflage can be. These little guys really know how to blend in and do their job well — especially in a house with 15 cats 😂🐈🐈‍⬛

Nature is pretty incredible sometimes 💚
