The November 2 - 5 conference will seek to bring to the fore issues surrounding the global trend towards digital publishing. Organized by the Jamaican Copyright Licensing Agency (JAMCOPY), The Online Mind includes a Digital Publishing Conference, Education Stakeholders Forum, Exhibition and 4 Master classes. Collectively, the aim is to strengthen the dynamic digital publishing product and content

delivery landscape, while exploring fundamental issues relevant to digital projects in education and how stakeholders can support Caribbean learners by improving their educational success. Among those being targeted include:

Also joining us at is Michael G. Lewis, Regional Intellectual Property Attaché for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean based at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico.

He is responsible for promoting high standards of intellectual property protection and enforcement and serves as a resource for both U.S. Government personnel and national governments within the region.

Previously, Lewis was a Director and Intellectual Property Advisor in the Office of the Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator (IPEC), Executive Office of the President. Prior to his service with IPEC, Lewis served as Acting Chief of Staff and Associate Counsel in the Office of General Counsel at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Lewis also served as a Trademark Examining Attorney with the USPTO and a Copyright Examiner for the U.S. Copyright Office.

Jon White, Head of Product, Emerald Group Publishing has worked in the digital media sector since the late 1990s.

He has worked on a team that produced one of the first artist-owned community sites for an internationally renowned rock star, as well as stints at Penguin and Macmillan Education where he led digital publishing worldwide. His move to Emerald Group Publishing has given him a wide remit overseeing the development of new digital technology, products and channels.
White brings nearly twenty years’ experience of multidisciplinary digital experience producing commercially successful products for diverse markets.
