When a factory visit becomes a lesson in leadership, operations and sustainability.
On 19th September 2026, members of the CIO Association Punjab Chapter had the opportunity to visit The Supreme Industries Ltd, Lalru.
What we experienced was much more than a factory visit.
Praveen Kumar Panda, Plant Head, took us through the entire plant with remarkable detail and patience. He explained each operation, the machines, processes, precautions, plant operations and what happens at every stage.
We gained valuable insights into the complete lifecycle of plastic products, including sources of raw materials, manufacturing processes, quality requirements and compliances.
The sustainability practices were equally insightful. We learned about how the plant is reusing water, reducing its environmental footprint and working to minimise the impact of manufacturing on nature.
But perhaps the most memorable part of the visit was hearing Prabeen's personal experiences.
He shared how he handled challenges, made decisions, worked through difficult situations and turned things around. His experiences offered a very practical lesson in what leadership looks like on the ground.
A well-run plant is ultimately a reflection of its leadership.
We also got to see how Supreme Industries is contributing beyond its manufacturing operations through participation in industry forums, interaction with graduates and future leaders, mentoring and CSR initiatives, creating a positive impact in the surrounding community.
For us as CIOs, the visit was a reminder that technology, operations, sustainability and people cannot be viewed in isolation. Understanding the business at the ground level is essential to understanding where technology can create meaningful value.
