ORI17C marked a new chapter for Orion Racing India — our first car to compete at two international Formula Student competitions in the same season.

In 2017, ORI17C competed at Formula Student Germany and Formula Student Italy, earning 3rd place in Cost & Manufacturing at FSG. The following year, it returned home to secure the National Champions title at Formula Bharat 2018.

More than a race car, ORI17C represented a team ready to compete and win on every stage. 🌍

Named after Orion’s brightest star, Rigel became the lightest car we had ever built. A brilliant blend of performance and precision, it secured Overall Rank 1 at Formula Student India 2016, with victories in Endurance & Efficiency, while also taking 1st in Cost & Manufacturing at FSG.

Built from disappointment. Driven by determination.

After Aeton couldn’t complete the Endurance event at Formula Student Germany in 2011, the team returned home with a singular focus; build a car that could go the distance. Reliability became the priority, timelines became tighter, and countless hours went into testing, refining, and pushing every system further than before.

The result was Arion—a machine built not just for speed, but for endurance, precision, and resilience. Named after the legendary divine horse of Greek mythology, known for its extraordinary swiftness, the name also draws from the Greek term “areion,” meaning better and stronger.

Powered by a Honda sportsbike engine and equipped with a live DAQ & telemetry system for real-time analysis, Arion represented a massive leap forward for the team.

And in Germany, it made history as the first Indian combustion vehicle to complete the Endurance event at Formula Student Germany.

Arion wasn’t just a racecar.
It was Orion Racing India proving that setbacks only fuel the comeback. 🏁

20 Years. Countless Dreams. One Legacy. 🏁

It all began with B150 (Barracuda 150); our first ever car, built with the true heart of Bombay and powered by a humble rickshaw engine. What started as an idea became a movement, laying the foundation for student motorsports in India.

Then came B600 (Barracuda 600); our second prototype and our first competition car. The one that opened doors to sponsorships, belief, and bigger ambitions. With an iconic Honda sponsorship, we received the Honda CBR 600cc F4i engine, made possible by the support of our Chancellor Shri Samir Somaiya sir; powering us as we took Orion Racing India to Germany.

From building with what we had
to racing with the best in the world.

20 years of passion.
20 years of resilience.
20 years of Orion Racing India.

And we’re just getting started. 🏎️
