The community at Lambabil School in Dhalai, Tripura didn't wait: they built what their children needed, with bamboo and their own hands.

This happened because a school quality review (TSQAAF) gave parents, teachers, and SMC members a shared picture of their school's needs. Once people could see the problems together, action followed.

A report card day full of conversations, reflections, and shared responsibility 👏📊✏️

Our team member was at the result declaration day at GUPS Kangkong, GSS Parbuk, GUPS Bolik, and GUPS Mobang in Arunachal Pradesh, to understand the students’ academic performance better. Classrooms turned into spaces of dialogue: teachers explaining progress, parents asking questions, students listening.

Strengths were celebrated.
Gaps were acknowledged.
Next steps began to take shape.

Behind every report card is a teacher’s effort, hours of evaluation, care, and commitment.

And when parents show up, engage, and listen, learning doesn’t stop at school, it continues at home, and meaningful progress is built together.

Small celebrations bring a lot of cheer 🎉🪄 Small challenges and goals can also bring a sense of challenge and achievement to children in school, encouraging them to apply themselves and participate more actively 💡✏️

Some stories don’t end when the performance does. They linger in melodies, in questions, in play.

Chali Kahani began in 2024 with the intention to bring meaningful, joyful literature to children anywhere, everywhere. With just a few props—animal ears, an odhni—and a lot of imagination, Rishikesh and Harsha transform everyday spaces into worlds of wonder. Their travelling theatre meets children where they are.

This year, they’ve performed 20 shows with Adhyayan. Children love these: they hum songs months later, they ask questions about stories and props, and they participate actively in post-session activities. It is heartening to see the magic of stories do its work 🎭✨🎤💭💛

What happens when schools come together? Students learn beyond their classrooms.

At a recent resource-sharing programme at Arjunmani KP High School, Tripura, students from three schools came together for a day of learning. Teachers collaborated, shared lesson plans, and supported one another. Students explored new ways of learning science through hands-on activities and interactive classes.

Whhen schools share resources, students gain new opportunities to learn, explore, and grow.

Our Arunachal team met for a three-day learning space last week! Lots of reflection and discussion about school improvement, small nudges, layers of impact, and more. We believe that such spaces are not an afterthought; they’re an important part of moving forward as a team. Through efforts by the teachers at Government Upper Primary School Gunanagar in Arunachal Pradesh, learning has become more participatory! They’ve been creating teaching-learning materials with low-cost and locally available resources. They’ve amped up their documentation as well, with upgrades in record-keeping processes for home visits and class activities. We love being part of this process ☀️🌻🌱✏️
