Switch ON is A grass-root organization facilitating last mile access to renewable energy and promoting livelihoods through training, capacity building and supporting innovation. We’re working out of Kolkata with operations in West Bengal, Bihar and Orissa. We have trained +200 Rural Entrepreneurs and working in over 250 villages.

At the Move for Earth Symposium 2026 in Ranchi, diverse voices exchanged ideas, showcased practical innovations and explored stronger pathways for FPO growth.

From roundtables and workshops to exhibitions and innovation challenges, every conversation moved towards market-ready FPOs and stronger rural livelihoods.

Fewer seedlings, stronger growth? Hear it from Pinki!

In Dumka, Jharkhand, farmer Pinki Devi planted just two to three rice seedlings together, with better spacing. She now reports five to seven shoots per clump!

How do Farmer Producer Company (FPC) directors learn from each other? Through exposure visits and peer-to-peer learning.

On 12 September 2026, Krushi Nirmiti FPC, Vidarbha, visited Bramhani Agromind FPC, Ahilyanagar. Both receive SwitchON Foundation’s handholding support.

This exposure visit explored agri-business activities—trading, breeder seed production, an agricultural input shop and a milk collection centre.

Directors exchanged experiences and best practices, exploring business opportunities relevant to Maharashtra agriculture and rural livelihoods.

11 FPCs. 4 states. 3 days of learning, collaboration and new possibilities. 🌾

From 27–29 August 2026, FPC representatives from West Bengal, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra gathered in New Delhi for the FPO Accelerator Bootcamp.

From understanding finance, certification and renewable energy to testing market decisions and visiting Delhi Mandi, every session brought practical learning closer to the realities of farmer-owned enterprises.

With valuable insights from APEDA, Bharat FPO, ICCOA and Agdi, the participating FPCs explored new pathways to reach buyers, adopt relevant technologies and build stronger businesses.

The bootcamp has ended—but a new journey has begun. Through mentorship, capacity building, startup connections and ecosystem support, we will continue helping these FPCs become stronger, climate-resilient and market-ready.

Because when farmer-owned enterprises grow, rural communities grow with them. 💚

One timely WhatsApp message helped Pinki Devi protect both her crops and her farm investment.

After receiving a local rain forecast in Hindi, she postponed fertilizer application and covered vegetables kept for drying. In just one month, she protected 20–25 kg of vegetables and avoided an estimated ₹1,000 in fertilizer loss.

Total estimated savings: ₹1,500–₹1,750.

Weather advisories help farmers decide when to fertilize, irrigate, harvest or protect produce. Simple information—delivered at the right time and in the right language—can prevent avoidable losses and make farming more climate-resilient.
