Performers independent (we call ourselves Pi) is an independent artists' collective, experimenting and exploring the traditional, modernist and contemporary spaces in the cultural paradigm. The Kolkata International Perofrmance Art festival was initiated in 2013 to annually open up the city of Kolkata to diverse trdions of performance and int

erventions. The festival aims to be a platform for dialogue between site, art, politics and culture. KIPAF acknowledges the nascent nature of Performance Art in India, and will always play a role in the pedagogy of performance art. The festival will be held between 23rd-26th January every year -

kicked off on March 16, 2024 to an overwhelming response from audiences from Kolkata and beyond, and concluded on March 22, 2024. With a focus on the cinemas of India, the screenings showcased over 20 films preserved and restored by NFDC-NFAI. The Festival responds to a future call to ensure that restored cinematic gems from South Asia, and India in particular, ascend to prominence on the global stage.
