Kady Harari, Gefen's Program Director, ran a yoga session for a group of young women from a pre-army prep unit (יחידת הכנה לצה״ל), who came up from the south to Ra'anana for the day.

Their commander wanted to give them a day of calm after months of hard work. 🌿

It was an honor to hold this space for them. 🤍

Today, is World IVF Day.

On 25 July 1978, history was made with the birth of Louise Brown, the world’s first baby born through IVF. It was a breakthrough made possible by Professor Sir Robert Edwards, Dr Patrick Steptoe, and Jean Purdy, nurse and embryologist. Their vision, dedication and perseverance changed fertility medicine forever.

Their work has given hope to millions of people around the world, making families possible where it once seemed impossible.

Today, we honor the pioneers of IVF, the advances in reproductive medicine that followed, and every person in the middle of treatment right now. 🤍

✨Last night, we gathered in the Old City of Jerusalem for a very special event hosted by the Nishmat Yoatzot Halacha Fertility Counselors in Cooperation with Gefen.

Dr. Rhonda Adessky and Dr. Karen Friedman were there to share in this meaningful evening dedicated to women going through fertility challenges.

We started in the Jewish Quarter at the home of our gracious host, Pamela Claman, with an opening class from Rabbanit Henkin, finding inspiration and preparing our hearts. Then, we walked together to the Kotel.

We were there to support the anticipation and the hopes of everyone waiting to build their family.

אמש התכנסנו בעיר העתיקה בירושלים לאירוע מיוחד ומרגש, בהובלת יועצות ההלכה מלוות הפוריות של "נשמת" ובשיתוף קרן גפן.

ד"ר רונדה אדסקי וד"ר קרן פרידמן הגיעו לקחת חלק בערב המשמעותי הזה, המוקדש לנשים המתמודדות עם אתגרי פוריות.

פתחנו את הערב ברובע היהודי, בביתה של פמלה קלאמן, שאירחה אותנו ברוחב לב, עם שיעור פתיחה מפי הרבנית הנקין, שהעניק לנו השראה והכין את הלבבות. משם צעדנו יחד לכותל המערבי.

היינו שם כדי לתמוך, לחבק ולהיות שותפות לציפייה, לתקווה ולתפילה של כל מי שמייחלת לבנות את משפחתה.

לכל מי שצועדת בשביל השקט של אתגרי הפוריות - את לעולם לא לבד.
