While Kaper was about, he got derailed into helping with more moving, filling empty cradles, out went the 737 and MD80 landing gear to reveal the long lost 707 cockpit!

This cockpit was utilised in UL for many years by students, kindly donated to SAM some years ago. We didn't have the space inside, so it got stored. The aircraft was previously impounded in Shannon years ago and subsequently scrapped. We also have one of its landing gears, used by Shannon Aerospace for training, and an RR Conway engine formerly displayed by Sealol Shannon, which we found and saved from a scrap heap.

It's nearing time to incorporate this shed into the building somehow, we will have to leave access for the Swallows and build a droppings catcher under the nest, they have 5 little chicks above this year.

Fantastic work and another big job done in raising Chipmunk 161 up on its plinths, only possible with Greg Hall on the job, who makes it work every time!

Expertise was on hand thanks to Kasper, the dream team to get the job done safely and successfully, 161 had one last brief spell with her wheels off the ground before final touchdown.

Thanks to Atlantic Aviation Group for yet more kind support for the ongoing project and to Pat Cornally and Joe Bergin for getting her reassembled.

We were thrilled to make Patrick Cronin's retirement visit home dream a reality, a retired helicopter pilot with 5000 plus hours of flight time who took his first flying lesson in the early 1980s at Weston and his first helicopter lesson at Dublin Airport. National Flight Centre

Accompanied by Bryan, aircraft engineer and Pilot and Anna, the guys had few hrs in the sim, thanks Harry for assisting to make this happen for Patrick.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, as ever. Patrick is a 3rd cousin to Capt Felim Cronin, recently retired to the big sky. Patrick's first airliner flight was piloted by Felim. Patrick was delighted to be able to see his uniform.

Stories that cross paths, all held safe for ever in SAM!

We were delighted to have Scoil Mhuire Násiúnta Corofin with us this week for Aviation Discovery School Tour thanks to Engine Lease Finance Corpration who kindly nominated them as part of their SAM Sponsor programme!

Everyone had a great time, learned lots and had a real treat at elfc HQ with a great lunch for the hungry tummies. Very well done to all, and especially to the elfc team, for their continued support of SAM and our work to inspire and nurture the next generation.

SAM work continues with Sarah's cool plan to showcase her lovely Birdy EI- BVT out front and centre for the summer, she looks great already, we all love the sunburst paint scheme!

Thanks to Leonard Ulster Aviation Society, who fitted some of the Vampire panels to keep the schedule going, and to Greg, who was hard at work making the plinths for the Chippies riser after a morning's tense brainstorming, negotiations, consultations, and moving to the exact best spot. Next weekend will see her in her final position and looking swell.
