I joined this group when i was PRO (public relations officer) when it was named 'People with Disabilities Ireland'. I am not an expert i just like to support but my own disability and chronic physical & mental health has deteriorated a lot in the past 15 years So am sorry but I cannot make or answer posts. I can see the group leans a lot towards Autism & Spectrum issues This is a condition I actually don't know very much about. I wish everyone well and send peace & love but have to ask people not to contact or follow me unless it's regarding Myalgic Encephalomylitis or Fibromyalgia (there is a Galway ME & Fibro group seperate from here on Facebook). May you all live your best possible lives and be the best version of you that you can be.
Thank you. Regards & Blessings 🙌 🙏🙌Suzy Young (County Galway).

Today marks an important milestone with the launch of the National Human Rights Strategy for Disabled People 2025–2030 in the Mansion House.

We’re especially proud to see strong voices from the DPO Network at the heart of this historic event. Huge cheers to Lianne Quigley (Irish Deaf Society) and Joe McGrath (National Platform of Self Advocates) for representing disabled people and showing the power of collective DPO leadership.

This strategy must be more than words — it has to deliver real change led by disabled people ourselves.

• Independent Living Movement Ireland (ILMI) is a national cross-impairment Disabled Persons’ Organisation (DPO) led by and for disabled people. Our vision is of an Ireland where disabled people have freedom, choice, and control over our lives, and where we are recognised as equal citizens.

• The DPO Network brings together ASIAM, Disabled Women Ireland (DWI), the Irish Deaf Society, Independent Living Movement Ireland (ILMI), and the Platform of Self Advocates. The Network works collectively to ensure disabled people’s voices shape the policies that affect our lives, in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of Disabled People
