Navan Road club hosted our last two road races of the 2026 cycling season over the weekend. Hard to believe that we've done seven races again this year, but now its time to put the equipment to sleep for a few months.

The club race organisers would like to thank its members and friends of the club for assisting us in getting these races organised and then helping out in the running of them too throughout the year, its not easy and its a big ask, so thank you.

We would also like to thank the riders for entering, we hope you enjoy the events that we put on and that you will come back next year.

Thanks so goes to the various commissaires that have come, to Cycling Ireland for their help in setting up the events on line, our moto marshalls, finishing line camera operator, and finally the residents of the villages that host these races.

It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Shane O’Brien.

On behalf of everyone at Navan Road Club, we extend our deepest sympathies to Shane’s family, friends, teammates, and all who knew him. Shane was a valued member of the cycling community and his loss will be deeply felt by many.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones at this difficult time.

May he rest in peace.
