🇮🇪 A Heartfelt Thank You to President Michael D. Higgins 🇮🇪
Today, Meath Travellers Workshop would like to extend our deepest gratitude to President Michael D. Higgins for his incredible service, compassion, and dedication to the people of Ireland — and especially to the Traveller community.
From the very beginning of his presidency, President Higgins has stood with Travellers, promoting equality, inclusion, and respect for our culture and identity. His voice has always been one of understanding and encouragement, reminding Ireland of the importance of diversity and human dignity.
We will never forget his kindness and solidarity — particularly when he attended the funeral of our late manager, Michael McDonagh. That gesture spoke volumes to Travellers across the country, showing genuine respect and empathy for our community. It was a powerful reminder that we are seen, valued, and belong.President Higgins has made a real difference in all our lives. His leadership and support have helped pave the way for a more inclusive Ireland, and for that, we will forever be in his debt.
As we look ahead, we are grateful for his legacy and are looking forward to building a positive and strong relationship with our new President.
